    I made a mistake there was not supposed to be a tac bomber rolling in Normandy.  This happened because rather than re-type my Germany opening, I saved it in a word document; however, I tweak details from time to time – but I forgot to remove the tac bomber from the Normandy attack.

    So after two rounds of attacking in Normandy, my 5 infantry shots and 2 tanks shots haven’t hit once, and 3 out of 4 of your shots at 2 have hit.

    I am not going to risk my tank against an infantry and artillery.

    I actually am supposed to have 94% odds of taking Normandy with 3 mech/inf and 1 tank.

    I will probably NOT go for sea lion because my only failed attempt in alpha 3 is with a 12 transport attack.  The odds of a successful attack with 12 transports is usually about 80%, but I distrust the dice too much to go for an amphib attack with those kind of odds – especially one where I basically lose the war if I lose the battle.  Don’t know if you want to play this out, but I’m probably going Barbarossa

  • there was a mech instead of a tac bomber attacking Normandy.

    the fact that I brought two mechs can be seen by the fact that there is 4 mechs in total on the board, and only 2 went to Paris.


  • I think you should be able to pursue sealion even in the event that the normandy battle went bad. I can understand if you didn’t take Paris (like that funny game where you got obliterated by blue infantries).

    Your normandy fight was attack 6 vs defense 4, I think you should bring 1rtl (from france) instead of 1mec there.
    That would raise your odds greatly, 'casue with attack 6 defense 4 an unlucky round1 will be harsh.

    2inf(either inf or mec) 1rtl 1arm will bring your attack from 6 to 8. Try it!

    Anyway I will make sealion possible 'cause I’m not going to turtle and I will punish the Italians. 12trn will be enough.

  • The problem with bringing 1 artillery, 2 inf and 1 tank to Normandy, although it does raise the Normandy odds to 97% from 94%, it reduces the odds in Paris to 94% from 96%.  Since not taking Paris is a bigger problem for sea lion than not taking Normandy, I try to make sure that I take Paris.

    Remember, I am still willing to play under those circumstances, I just go Barbarossa instead.

    Well, yeah if you’re not going to max defend england I’ll take a look at what you do first.
