OK Crunch, You got me I surrender
The Japs are just to JapaneseI need to figure something to slow them down
Thanks for the game
Flip -
It was a good game, thanks for the challenge! I think that one tank battle in the third round of dice/combat was the decider. It was even odds, had the dice been even that might have been enough right there.

Crunch
What would the Jap’s do if confronted with this 1st round scenario?
Notice a IC in SAf -
Geez I have run-on writing syndrome! hope I didn’t blather too much. The SAF IC will be a anchor around his neck. The US is probably going to build an IC in Sin I would think. Long term, they spent alot of dough on ICs and now will have to build all tanks or air units at those sites.
I’m pretty sure I have seen something like this when I first played here. They also attacked and took with loss of 1 Inf NGu I think in that early game I build a german AC and perhaps another transport on G1 so was not able to pressure the russians like I should have.
I am not sure if I did pearl light or not, I think I did not and the US went fleet builds in the Pacific.
I built an IC right away in Kwa. I figured I could hold it no matter what with the stack of fighters and a few ground troops and it would be easy to drop 4 Inf from 2 TT and build 3 armour per turn. The US had to walk into my backyard 2 spaces next to my Jap IC to get into position to hurt me.
The complete Jap navy and airforce that you start with, plus a few subs and a few extra planes so the 4 on carriers can fly off, fight, land on an island and 4 fighters from land fly out to land on the carriers is a heck of a force to be able to get into range of and feel confident.
So, what would i do? Tough, normally I want to stomp Bry, but alot going on down in south asia. And it looks like KJF at this point. Not hitting s52 if they are going to the atlantic is not a real loss of opportunity to win an IPC battle. But if they are staying home it is. So with that train of thought, Pearl light is a must.
Sz36). You BB and CC should attack their fleet to end that threat. The only issue is to you play it safe and use 1 fighter? If you run the numbers there is about a 1.5% chance you lose the battle completely, and a 7.5 % chance you might have to take the CV as a hit. Is that roughly 9% worth putting in a fighter? Well do we need it elsewhere?
Next, 2 fighters in Chi, they are going to be a pain in the rear for ever. I think you have to kill them, let the russians take Man, the only issue is do you leave 1 man behind?
3 Fighters and 4 inf against Chi leaves 1 Inf in Man if you like and maybe 1 extra ftr in Sz36 battle but a 26% chance you start losing fighters in Chi? that extra inf in AAcalc says you odds of losing fighters then drops to about 9%
You want FIC back so a tank and inf from japan, maybe use that oncommitted fighter in Sz36 for that battle.
Attack the CV in 59 with the BB, if you miss and he hits then what? the brits can then attack Sz60 with 2 fighters, bomber and cv, but on defense is a BB, DD, CV and 2 fighters (the one from Man going to Chi is the only other fighter besides the Pearl attacker). The brits don’t fair to well so good there. The CV in 59 can’t land fighters in 36, so Sz36 is safe from a surviving CV in 59.
So in summery:
Pearl light
Chi with 4 Inf, 3 Ftr choice 4-5 Inf and 3-4 fighters, I would say 5 Inf and let the russians walk into Man for a round, then punish anything on the coast from then on.
Sz36: BB, CV(37), loaded TT (60) tank+inf choice of 0-1 Ftr, rather lose a fighter than a cv, slim odds but……
FIC: Tank+Inf choice of 0-1 fighters from Sz36 or here or Chi. If you get wiped out, that sucks but no tactical disaster…
Sz59 BB vs CVSo with all that lined up, time to think about builds!
I think I went IC in Kwa, I think maybe I was scared to build in Sz60?
I think the only choice is either an IC and DD+TT or DD+3 TT
Since i am not sure what is coming, I don’t want to lock my increasing my land forces to where my navy is safe/will be in the future. You will need the IC down the road. I would lean to an IC, DD, TT build.

Thanks Crunch
I did think the IC in Africa was a bad idea.& the ftr to Chi
but even without that, very dicey for the allies right off the hop. -
