AA50 with updated rules and New units?

Anyone tried using the updated rules and new units from the 1940 games with Anniversary Edition?

If so, let me know your findings.  I would like to do this next game.  AA50 is much shorter than AAG40 but I miss the new stuff when we play.

You didn’t find that the New units gave any power and advantage?  What about the straights?  Did you use that rule?  I can’t stand it when UK/USA can just waltz into the Baltic any time they like.
