@TinCanoftheSea I believe re: blitzing that, when a territory will change ownership as a result of the blitz, “the complete move must occur during the combat move phase.” Because the pro-allied territories can only change ownership in non-combat move phase, I do not believe that it is possible to blitz through them.
But I am not a rules expert.

TripleA asks “do you want to attack transports?” and if I respond “Yes” then it uses both the fighter and the cruiser to attack. But I only want to use the fighter, so that the cruiser can conduct the bombardment.
Assuming this aligns with the rules, and TripleA has a technical limitation that prevents it, can I just remove the transport (since it would be killed by fighter) and use the cruiser to bombard?

I don’t think what I wanted to do is possible based on the rules. Seems like any unit present in a sea zone must participate in a naval battle. I moved the cruiser out before combat.

@discalced Yeah that would not be a legal move, in order to bombard you’d have to ignore the transport, one of those many weird details
