Need a strategy!

  • I’m going to play A&A with my friends soon and i need a strategy for any country you have a good strategy for!

  • I would do a forum search here with the string of “best strat” then fill in the blank for which ever country you wish to have a go with. You should come up with volumes of tactics to help frustrate your opponent for hours unless they too read this forum, and in that case you will probably spend the night arguing about putting in IC in India. 😄 Hope this helps…

    Russia: Buy 8 Infantry

    combat: wellllll…

hit finland with everything in Keraila and 2 tnks from Russia
hit baltic fleet with russian fighter
add sub against german sub in w spanish sea

Results: you’ll probably win finland with 2 arm and a fight…
    baltic cleared wol
maybe he lost you lost or he retreated if you get a chanc after the 1 assault to retreat do so

    non combat:
all fight to keriala and 4 inf from caucusus
    cnsolidate eastern forces
    Tran to north sea

works out pretty good with anystrat the allies have via shuck suck and puts a burden on germany to lose more air in british fleet attack

    just a start for Russia

  • The individual strategy of your country is not as important as the combined strategy of you and your allies. Which ever team coordinates together the best will win the game. Your own actions will flow naturally to the best end of the group strategy. So get together with your fellow players at the start of the game and at regular intervals throughout to remain as well coordinated as possible.

your oratory ashames me Zero… that is the way to play

  • Best chance of finding good strategies? Check out the Games forum. 😉 Lots of great opening moves posted there.

  • it’s better to hit ukraine turn one with russia because you can always kill the finland troops turn 2, they cant go anywhere.

This site should give you a real good general strategy for each country as well as a real good general strategy for each alliance. Hope this helps 😄 .

Thats (imho) the very essence in this game when setteling teams at the start, in my experince the the most experinced players should play the allied forces, since they need a very strong teamwotk, to gain the upperhand - where the axis can use their millitary superiorty to brack out of their ‘chains’ and reach eachother in the middel of asia - plz correct me if this assumption is way out 😃

  • guest, are you playing the standard rules or Russia Restricted(RR) which gives the Axis a little better chance(since USSR doesn’t get a chance to sink the German sub and trn in the Baltic sea zone[Bal sz], nor the chance to eliminate 1 fighter[ftr] and more by attacking Fin/Nor, Ukr or EEu.)

RR basically eliminates USSR’s first turn Combat Movement and Combat.
Tech rolls, Purchase new units, Noncombat movement and Placement are the only activities allowed on R1(Russia turn 1.)

Coordination is important. Remember, for example, if planning against Germany, that Allied forces move or build in the following order(UK, US and R.)

    A simple example is…
    In UK1,
UK builds an ac(carrier) and a trn(transport) in the purchase units phase…
places ac & trn in the UK sz during theplacement phase…
    Later, in US1,
during the Noncombat movement phase US flies 1 ftr from WUS and 1 ftr from EUS to UK sz to land on the UK ca,
and transports 2 inf via US trn to the UK territory.

So that on G2(Germany’s turn 2), the Luftwaffe faces a combined force of 1 UK ca, 1 UK trn, 1 US trn and 2 US ftrs. If Germany chooses to attack with a maximum of 5 ftrs and 1 bmr(bomber) he may win. However, the estimated loss of 3 ftrs will do more to hurt Germany than the loss of 1 ca, 2 trn and 2 ftr will hurt the UK and US.

  • The individual strategy of your country is not as important as the combined strategy of you and your allies.

Very well put, you would do well to keep the above mantra in mind. Having said that… do search the forums and you’ll find a wealth of not only strategies but also comments on them from other A&A players, plus many times the original poster comes back and posts how the strategy worked out in game, or sometimes others do that. Having a strategy is one thing, but having a proven one that works well is another 😄

Really though, having allies (or an ally if Axis) that work with you on a common overall strategy is the most important thing. It allows you to weather a few bad rolls plus let’s you plan a much wider strategy. If you know, for example, that defensive help is on the way to Russia from England/ America, you may be more inclined to go on an offensive against Japan or whatever. Just throwing that out on the table as an example.

Do you know who you will be playing as or will you decide that when you meet for the game?

ask for a couple of minutes wether you are Allied or Axis to plan with your fellow player(s)… YOU WILL NEED IT!!! Especially if you are allied…
