Axis and Allies Notation

Is there a standard official Axis and Allies notation, like Chess notation?  Thank you.

Not really.

At Caspian Sub we tried to standardize some 3-letter abbreviations.  Each territory has a three letter abbr. viewed on the UgliMap used in the articles.  Sea zones are 3-characters: Z12, Z05, etc.  Units are:

inf
art
tnk
ftr
bmr
tra
sub
des
car
btl

But that is not standard everywhere.  As soon as we rule the world, however, it WILL be standard.
