  • On the US turn, I didn’t scramble your 3 German tac bombers when I attacked your German destroyer, as I had the ability to replenish fighters and the tacs seem important to make your Luftwaffe have more teeth - I wouldn’t have scrambled if it were me, but I might be more conservative than you.

    Let me know if when it’s close like that (5 units on 4), you’d like to have a chance to scramble.

    If your attack was overwhelming then no scramble was right.  If its less than say 95pct odds for you then please ask.

    I have never played a scenario like this with the Italian fleet down in Africa should have taken a little more time to survey the situation I guess lol


  • Thanks - that’s a good rule of thumb.

    That battle was around 80%, with two fighters remaining for Allies - we can talk about reparations of some sort for not asking you for scramble orders.


    I got lucky in the Italian fleet battle, and should have lost another unit (should have ended with 5 total).

  • You won’t get any arguement from me - that was the defining moment in this game, and was based on dice, not skill. I’m not under any illusions about where this game might have gone otherwise.

    Being a solid logistical player/purchaser, I’ve capitalized by not making many mistakes and playing to the Allied economic advantage… but if Sydney had gone differently…

    sure sucks that i overlooked that your fleet could hit mine.  in my head i didn’t have the turn order correct obviously…. clearly the move was to keep the japs there for one more turn, then italy moves, then japan moves.  there goes africa…  :|  and the entire italian navy for cheap.  :|

    i had taken angola with the italians but undid all my african combat moves accidentally, had meant to leave angola only to be taken and the rest of the troops to tanganyika.
