Yeah going to be 0-2 against Gamer but may win a few other games.

5 hits on defense in caucasus? seriously? that is absurd…

been there, done that against EB. twice. his dice don’t have an off switch
-
i think your little one-trick wonder is gonna end soon EB - either you will be horribly burned a few times and stop trying this move, or people will begin to understand they just need to weather your initial bull rush and grind you down. problem is, your bull rush is working so WELL!!!
i know… i’ve seen this move a few dozen times. it’s like any other strategy: it’s unbeatable if you get good luck. i’ve tried it a few times,… it’s never worked in the long run. took cau a couple of times, but never with enough to hold it, and usually end up seriously weakening japan’s air strength. i’ve never have gotten 3 hits with the italians (2 is the best i’ve done – and for a real lesson in the dangers of an italian strafe see my current debacle against ob&g), and certainly never had anywhere clsoe to 7 tanks survive to take the territory.
oh well, there’s other things to do this summer.
-
all you can do now is hit back with everything and hope to get just as lucky back. :|
-
funny thing is, he pulls off a 1% win like that and then says nothing. when pressed he might say, “yeah that worked out better than i was expecting”
right EB? :-P
-
oh, i don’t blame him a bit. it was an aggressive, gutsy move. really, after his lousy dice on G1, i was pretty much expecting this, and figured on 3-4 tanks in caucasus, best case. i never dreamed there’d be 7 of them. but that’s to his credit… he took a chance. no fear, no favor.
nice move, EB. dice luck or not, it worked and now you’re the driver’s seat. tip of the hat.

i don’t blame him either - if it keeps working, why stop?

exactly. although this strat has been around for a while, and is usually fairly easy to defend against, if you get the dice and can hold it, it sure tips the game dramatically. i just felt like he really had no choice after his G1 - he had to do something, or the game could have gotten away from him quickly. the italian result was very positive and gave him a serious chance to take caucasus (about 70%), but my poor defense really has him sitting pretty right now. sometimes you gotta gamble…
