Battleships have a knob on top that cruisers don’t have and destroyers have a small cross on top. I keep my unit size at 75% so they don’t overlap territories but you can make them larger for easier identification. Click the “view” dropdown menu and select “unit size” to do that.
Bombers are typically larger than the other aircraft, but distinguishing between the fighters and tacs are harder because they are shaped to resemble the aircraft specific to each country.
The only foolproof way I know how to identify units is to click on the “territory” tab and then move the map so that the territory or sea zone that you are examining is next to the right sidebar. You have to do this because, if it isn’t right next to the sidebar, running over another territory will change the display to the units in the that territory. Then arrow over to the sidebar which will have the list of units in the territory and you can hover the arrow over each unit for a second and a popup will identify the unit for you.

Are you doing “play by forum”? Click the “post to forum” dropdown and select “axisandallies.org”. Then put the game ID, your username, and password in the appropriate fields.
The game requires an email address in the topmost field, but since you’re playing by forum, it won’t send an email to that address so it doesn’t matter if it’s a valid one or not. As far as I can tell anyway.

Oh I see the problem you were referring to. I need a CC email for the tripleA server. It didn’t require it when I was using the internal dice roller. I’m just going to use my email for both fields. Game on.
