Infrastructure vs Stalingradski take-2
-
Yeah up 1 1/2 on the russian front, and up 2 1/2 in important normandy. sorry.
Luck makes up for my stupidity in the pacific, I guess. These kind of things are going to happen in the third game of a new version.Germany collects 54 +10NO -2CON = 64
-
China did have 1, so they now have 3IPCs.
-
Germany 62. Still hurts. I can’t believe I traded a German do-over for you for 1 luck token for me… a mistake I won’t make again! Especially looking at a German fleet that shouldn’t exist, and an unstoppable Allied fleet in its place. Ah well.
I had this game easily in hand and have frittered it away with horrible US naval play. I hope I’m learning my lesson. You are quickly becoming an economic powerhouse. I certainly don’t need you to have good luck against Russia at this point… just the opposite.
Enough bellyaching, though it’s hard for me to not be frustrated.
Russia.
Purchase 2 armor, 2 mech infantry, 5 infantry… my last purchase of expensive units, looking at the realities of the board. Potatoes from here on out! Twelve armor/six mech inf/six aircraft will be a nice mobile force, if I’m smart with it. Maybe. I need to get M to bed, and H and I have to get up early for a training tomorrow… I’ll try to do my turn later, but if not, it’ll be the first thing I do when I get home around 8 tomorrow night.
-
Make that 9 Infantry, 2 Mech Infantry… can’t afford infantry exhaustion.
Russia combat + map.
Walk into Sikang.

Well, you’re clubbing me over the head and kicking me in the gut. F this. You were 6 for 11 rolling 2’s on Round 1. This f’ing sucks.
Forgot the map. Here’s where it stands post Round 1. I don’t have the desire to go back and put pieces back on the board.
Round 2.

Yup, 7 for 13 rolls of 2 is pretty sweet.
Place 3 Inf Ukraine, 3 Inf Stalingrad, 3 Inf/2 Mech Russia.
Russia collects 26.

Sorry man. I have anew proposal for you. We could play this game from my German mess up turn as well and I can see if I can pull it out, or we can go back to any point in this game as long as I get an extra reroll and then we will be even! It would make me feel better, although I still don’t think this is over…

I think I was venting steam. The deal is, I should have been in command of this game, and I’m mad at myself for mangling my US naval play. What I’d like to do is play on, no matter what happens, and in some future game I get the same consideration - the replay of a combat round, as long as it’s on the same country’s turn, without having to use a luck token, and in return you get a luck token back. That makes me feel like we’re equal.
The real reason I’ve been frustrated is my own play… it’s had nothing to do with you.
And yes, this game is far from over. Russia is strong, and very far from falling, and with smart purchases I’ll have a thriving Atlantic fleet in the near future. You bought a good dose of time for you to put yourself on good economic footing, putting you squarely in the game. In reality, this is a good one.
I won’t be taking my turn tonight - no time.
-
dont you quit on me.
-
Quit…? Huh? I’ve just been busy.
US purchases five destroyers, two subs, two transports, two infantry, two artillery.

No combat.
Place Sub, Infantry, Fighter in the only place I can.
Collect 15IPCs.
Feeling kind of ok about this game… for this deep (turn 10), and all things being equal, I have a strong Russia, two decent US fleets, and a strong Egypt/Middle East. It could be a lot worse, based on other games we’ve seen.
Our economies are pretty stable right now, with me collecting a little more. Pretty interesting game. You made early mistakes, I made midgame mistakes… now it’s up to each of us to stop making mistakes. Luck will take care of itself… no fumbles or interceptions!
-
Don’t quit on me…
-
Steve - there are no airbases on the map for either Romania or Greece… I’m sure you have one in Romania… but Greece also? I’ll let you you add them.
