  • can you move a tank one space into a unoccupied country, and then move it back to the country you attacked from and call it blitzing?

  • 12

Yes: A tank can "blitz" by moving through an unoccupied hostile territory as the first part of a move THAT CAN END IN A FRIENDLY or hostile territory (emphasis mine).

One of the gotchas of doing a blitz, is that any facilities such an an Air Base, IC, or Naval Base, will block it, so if a tank enters a territory that contains any one of these things, it has to end its turn in that space.
