If you can add several bid units to same area, then yes - 2inf 1arty in Ukraine are way better than 1 fighter there.
And even if not, 2inf 1arty can help several theaters - like arty Libya, inf Ukraine, inf Belorus (or EEu).

      Deaths Head 420D

You start Taliking about 1960’s games, I start thinking about my Favorite Aircraft ever.

      The Huey Gunship.  mmmm……
I also love the idea of flying all around werever I please and Pooping out Grunts everywhere.
Air Cav. Is Awesome. I like more then Paratrooper Regiments.

Those Jolly Green Giant Choppers were cool also, But F’ing Ugly

So a Chopper Unit is a Must!. or at least available as a tech.

Thats right. To me, the multiple collect income causes inflation.
Yes collecting income before combat does stop this.

Regarding the essay on a pad that can be reduced. For example in AARHE the Axis/Allies sequence makes. Its not 4 turns between Russia 1 and Russia 2. So you don’t have to hire an accountant to keep track of things even if we collect income before combat.

He kept asking for promises but I never gave him any.

He almost had to vacate the mainland coast to stop Germany from over whelming him.  As for Tokyo, that was not so much abandoned since he didn’t have a way to get his forces off Japan.  His fighters were already in Russia stopping Germany from taking Moscow.  It was a catch 22.  He could let Germany win by evacuating Russia to protect Tokyo, or he could have a better fight against America.  America only won because I lucked out and got into that bottom 22% where the attacker actually survived.  He still had about an 80% chance to win, though, I had the forces to do a second attempt later if I wanted too.

Germany, on the other hand, was telling his ally to not only give up Asia so he could take it but to suicide his planes into America and hope enough hit that the American navy would be set back a round or two.  Not a very good move, IMHO, since the suicide fighters still had a 33% chance of missing EACH and you had to pre-declare all your targets, so you couldn’t even see if the fighters you sent after a specific boat actually HIT that boat before declaring the next one.  That means you’d have to dedicate 4 fighters to sink a battleship, 2 to sink a carrier, etc.  You could send half that much, but you’d be relying on luck.

in East and West (cold war version), it cost i think 10 IPC, the peace is on the board like other units. to drop it you have to have a bomber do it. the nuke kills 5 units on sea or land.
you can develop the tech to fire them with a move of 4 i think, then you can upgrade again to have them kill 10 units.
ether version also reduces the IPC of target teritory by 1 IPC for one or two turns per nuke used.
nuking a teritory with a nuke causes the other nuke to blow giving the effects to stack.
for all you also have to make a consiquence role. some cause anti nuke protest (can’t build nukes for a turn or two… USSR un effected), political strife with neutrals, or no effect.
i think it was well balanced out for use, although the games i played the nukes turned into a game of who can do the most damage with the nuke and gain the most head way from it… nuke wars are no fun really and that was with nukes that wern’t over devistating.
