@Krieghund Hi, I’m still confused about this. The political situation for USA in Pacific 1940 says “…immediate one-time bonus”… and yet you confirmed back in August '23 that the 30 IPC bonus is for EVERY turn?

@The-Captain Nice war room! I really like your light fixtures, do you recall the name or where you purchased?

    • RE: I'm enjoying Axis & Allies Online

Today I watched a game-play introduction by “The Historical Gamer” on YouTube, but I haven’t played the game personally yet.

In the video I was struck by how many prompts the player encountered during combat - why all the clicking? When I’m playing TripleA, I have the speed set to the fastest possible… and not only does the dice animation take forever in this game… but the constant mouse clicking during combat makes the combat phase long and tedious.

I liked the visuals that I saw however, it has a much nicer polish than Triple A.

Hi, you’ve done a really remarkable job on cleaning up and improving the AA50 map. Thank you for your efforts, and thank you for making the map files available to the community. I’m looking forward to printing your map as soon as I have the $ available… :)

@taamvan @djensen I just posted in the redux thread, on impulse thought I would try dragging/dropping images in my post, and it worked! That alone is worth the price of admission, lol. So ya, the new forum is awesome!

@Panther This last post of yours did the same thing for me. Soft refresh didn’t work, I logged off and after a half-dozen more freshes, suddenly the post appeared properly. Logged back in, and it’s still good.

@Panther Hi, just browsing the tips & tricks link that you linked to… clicked on a couple of topics, and your answers are formatted strangely for my view… (below)… is this happening to anyone else?

    • RE: 👋 Introduce or Re-Introduce Yourself (Current)

Hi all, I was first introduced to A&A Classic in the mid 90’s, got back to playing with Revised in mid 2000’s, but for the last three years given more time to A&A games… been teaching guys in my area, I have 3 or 4 guys that have a strong interest now… mostly AA50 at the moment, but want to get into G40 soon (own it already). My kids like A&A also, esp my 16 yr old daughter (also have 14 yr old daughter and 12 yr old son that like the games).

I have a huge interest in customizations such as map-making and other printed resources, as my professional background is as a graphic designer. My other hobbies include WW2 history and carpentry/woodworking/fabrication… I’ve been collecting WW2 military collectibles and props for many years for my future war room, will be based strongly on the Churchill War Rooms “map room”.

I live in Swan River, MB, Canada, so no groups near me, but my plan is to attend an A&A event in the future, hopefully one of YG’s events in Toronto in 2020.

    • RE: Forums Feedback Redux

When I am viewing a subforum, is there a way to quickly do a search of that sub-forum only? It seems like other forums (and possibly the old one?) had this ability. Unless I’m missing something, now I have to click the search icon i the top bar, then choose the subforum I was viewing from a dropdown list, then type my search query, etc.

Totally fine if that option still exists (The advanced search with all the options/parameters, etc), but is a quick subforum search also possible?

    • RE: DIY Flight Stands

@Sarge Neat stands Sarge! Is the washer just to provide additional weight down low? Is the doweling inserted into the felt, or just glued to the top of it? Did you have any difficulty getting these to be perfectly vertical?

Nice gaming table! Also I like the overhead light, is that is a custom diffuser, or can you actually buy a fixture that looks like that?

    • RE: I'm enjoying Axis & Allies Online

I am looking forward to trying it out also. I’ve often wondered why such a stable game franchise did not have an “official” online variant (esp. since the game is so suited to browser-style play on a wide range of devices).

I haven’t played 1942.2 in awhile, but it will be a great 1v1 option I think… and hopefully once the dust has settled on that release we will see AA50, G40, 1914, etc…

Remember the game has to be playable and accessible to both A&A veterans as well as newbies.

For sure, I get the UX/UI considerations. But a prompt that comes up after NCM that gives the two options “Select Custom Orders of Loss” or “Continue to New Unit Placement” shouldn’t be too confusing for anyone. Of course a mouseover on the Custom OOL button would give a more detailed explanation.

OOL comes up in pretty much every game… I have an AA50 game in progress in TripleA right now where I’m getting pressed hard in Russia. I will definitely choose to lose the American bomber I have placed in Caucasus before one of my Russian infantry, and the defense of Moscow could depend on that choice.

Thanks for the feedback. The developers might later allow players to customize their defense profiles.

I do not believe this false prophet!

but if it somehow is true lol… I would encourage the dev team to code a general profile setting AND an option during NCM to custom set OOL (order of loss) for any given territory, outside of the basic parameters.

Yes, the chance to designate a custom OOL (for any given territory) will be huge to have… otherwise the A&A gameplay experience is pretty tainted… shouldn’t be too hard to code, and also if newbs want to stick with default OOL, then no skin off their nose, they don’t need to go down that path

    • RE: Announcing Axis & Allies Online

I wonder if a player could update a custom OOL on every turn of theirs if they so chose… in anticipation of a battle that might take place on their opponents turn?

Selling my copy of Battle of the Bulge, I think I tried to play it once, but the game is basically new, just open box.

carsonbparker and Navymule, the map should scale up just fine… the resolution might drop to the 200dpi range, but it should still print a crisp image.

      Here’s a low-res shot of the map…(without ghost boxes)
