Transport question

Subs may submerge at the end of any round of combat if there are no opposing destroyers in the battle at that point (as long as the battle is not over).  They have no effect on other units while submerged, and are ignored.  They resurface at the end of the noncombat movement phase, having no effect on enemy units in the sea zone at that point.

Hi Guys long time no type.  It’s been a wile since I have played this one so I’m knocking out the cobwebs.  You will also have to forgive me since I don’t have the board in front of me.

Let’s say I’m Germany and this is a few turns into the game.  I have my Med. transport and battleship in that inlet by the Caucuses.

The UK has their Destroyer in the SZ adjacent to Italy.  I have my battleship and some fighters based in Italy take out the UK Destroyer.

(Here’s my question)  Can I have my transport pick up troops in the Balkans or Caucuses and land them in North Africa (Germany controlled of course) where the sea battle just took place?

Yes, in non-combat.

The FAQ was recently amended on Larry Harris’ site to remove all ambiguity on this point.  It now reads as follows:

Q.  If I liberate a friendly power’s territory, what happens to the antiaircraft guns and industrial complexes there?
A.  They are returned to the control of the original controller of the territory.

Correct.  TRNs do not have to be FULL.

Nor does it count as a move to “take off” from a carrier to the occupied sea zone.  If the ftr is on a carrier, it can move 3 spaces maximum from the carrier, if it intends to land on the same carrier.  The carrier must then move 2 spaces toward the ftr in the non-combat move, while the ftr returns 1 space to land.  (It’s a lot easier to understand looking at the board.)

Just the way the rules have been in this game, going all the way back to 1st Edition, about 25 years ago.

You amphib in, and your other forces are supporting it… you all either live or die trying.

Just think of it this way:  Since trannies are NOT involved in the attack (they are not even on the battle board) then they don’t have to “waste any part of their move” getting to the objective.  However, any BBs or DDs that contributed to a battle offshore canNOT bombard during the amphibious assault.
