No, this “trick” has always been available and I think I have mentioned it before. You edit your message, remove the html results of the roll and resubmit a message with a new roll. You can do this over and over and over again until you get the result that you want. The result is still random each time but you can repeat it over and over to get a favorable result.

The thing is you’ll see the “message edited on” alert which indicates a possible cheater. To avoid that altogether, editing posts in the games in progress forum was turned off.

  • And that applies to all 3 game threads (regular, Tournament, and League), correct?

    Yes.

To roll dice, type in the following:

    <colon>dice ndm <colon>Replace <colon>with an actual colon “:”
Replace n with the number of dice to roll.
Replace m with the number of sides per dice.

lets see if I can get this to work

    Three inf @1DiceRolling 3d6:
    (1, 3, 4)  one arm @ 3DiceRolling 1d6:

Dude, you’re behind the times - try this command:

    aaa 3@1 1@3
    DiceRolls: 3@1 1@3; Total Hits: 03@1: (5, 6, 6)1@3: (5)

Dude, I really would rather be using the Frood site but my opponent is not getting the e-mails from it…

  • 2007 AAR League

Well I have a perfect solution for you - create a Game ID at my site and use that in rolling your battles. Then your opponent can verify results online and trust that he’s not receiving a spoofed e-mail of the results.

Even better, enter two dummy e-mail addresses when you create the game, just rely on the online logged results, and save room in your inbox for more important stuff, like male enhancement pills.

  • 2007 AAR League

    Game ID has been created.

    I did two “Test” battles.

    Want to check your log?

I can’t since the Game ID field in the “Confirm PBEM results” won’t accept 32 characters.

    Can you check that?  Thanks.

  • 2007 AAR League

    Egg on my face

Okay, you can now enter up to 32 characters to verify results. Doh!

I checked the Game ID you pm’d me and it seems that the results were logged - I see your results were logged as:

    Battle: Test:
Attacker ends with: 1 Fig, 1 Bom. (losses: 2 Arm, 1 Fig, 2 Inf.)
Defender ends with: no units. (losses: 3 Inf, 2 Fig.)

    test-2:
Attacker ends with: 1 Inf, 2 Arm, 2 Fig, 1 Bom. (losses: 1 Inf.)
Defender ends with: no units. (losses: 3 Inf, 2 Fig.)

Did you also do a 0 round battle, or evaluation, of 1 Inf v. 1 Inf?

  • 2007 AAR League

    Looking good.

Yes I did some 1 on 1 evaluations and also some 1000 round runs but those don’t get e-mailed.  Do they get logged?

  • 2007 AAR League

My intention was that they wouldn’t get e-mailed or logged, though there may be a glitch.

The reason being that you don’t want to accidentally reveal your possible battle plans to the other side. Plus there is no point in logging them - you can just send people a link to the scenario as it will be pretty similar or identical each time.

  • 2007 AAR League

I was hoping that those would not be logged or e-mailed.  I guess your “inside” log has records of them?

Looks like BalungaLoaf is getting everything to work also.  I hope to see J1 shortly.

I guess the “Evaluate” function is getting logged, but the 1000x modes are not. I’ll disable the former but it’s no biggie I don’t think, is it?

Glad it’s working for you. I’m toying with the idea of disabling the e-mail altogether and just having the log for verification, or at least making the e-mail optional. Not before the end of the tournament though.
