  • Well thank you for the compliment!  That means a lot coming from a player of your caliber.  I rather enjoy playing against people who are respectful and play the game for fun.  The only reason I am in the league section is cause the guy I am playing put us there for some reason.  I am pretty content playing like this.  Although… I would enjoy playing your G4 with my J4.  Things would have to change a bit for me on the Japan side due to the possibility of Russia helping but I am sure I could figure something out:)


  • I also wanted to ask you… I had started a thread on the whole Aleutian islands tactic a while back.  Ghr2 was talking some smack saying I needed to try it out on experienced players before I could consider it “viable”.  I have played 2 other people besides you as the axis.  1 guy I made him quit after like 5 rounds.  The other guy I am playing right now and it is turning out to be a beat down.  You are the only person I have played that really makes me think and is a serious challenge.  Would you mind if I posted the J4 move on that thread to show that it is hard to stop even for “experienced” players.  I claimed that I could get almost 70 ipcs after J4 and I believe I had 72 against you.  Just wanted to show that what I was talking about works.  Obviously doesn’t mean that I will win every time but it sure is a helluva start for Japan.


  • Absolutely - please post it. I know what I’m doing (for the most part  :-)) as the Allies, and you have done a great job with Japan creating a strong Pacific shield while also crushing China.

    (btw - I posted a long response to you earlier, but my internet went down and it was never sent  :? - it was too much for me to go back and try to rewrite it)

    The Aleutian move is a good one, and worth it. The same round you went over 70 IPCs, you knocked the US down to 67. I had to buy the right units (transport/inf/art/bomber) to take it back, and it slows down the US machine in the Pacific. If Japan desires, it can also build a sub etc. and then take out the transport the US used to take back the Aleutians…

    I’ve written about this in a bunch of places before, but most people don’t respond. I don’t know why, because it is THE cornerstone of my A&A strategy - the game is all about initiative. Units don’t matter, as much as what they represent in this regard. Make your opponent respond to you, keep them off balance, and with decent logistics, good purchasing, and normal dice, you’ll win more often than not.

    The Aleutians attack represented you getting the initiative, and making me react. So I’m all for it. If gh2 or whatever his name is can’t understand that, that’s his problem  :-D
