  • I thought I was grabbing the bomber from S Italy for the battle in Morocco and grabbed a fighter by mistake (I hate that stupid silhouette on the Italian bomber). I edited the fighter back and edited the bomber to land in S France. If there’s an issue, you can edit it back.

    The bid I played against was 9 (I thought most are 6 or 8, but I was promised a return-game under the same bid switching sides, so, whatever) and he put a sub above Egypt and an Infantry in Anglo-Egypt Sudan. The sub saved 1.5 plane losses for him doing Taranto UK1 and allowed him to keep enough air at home to take care of my fleet. I think that one sub was probably worth about 50 IPC to him, between the immediate fighter savings, the opportunity cost I had to spend to sink surface vessels in the Med, and the long term savings off of London.

    I can see how that one unit would make a huge difference. I have a really hard time with the concept of bids in this version… the game has been playtested to death. But if it comes my way at some point, at least I know what a reasonable amount is - thanks -

  • On Anzac’s turn I noticed a pretty important fighter that was sipposed to land on the Phillipines fleet - and I mistakenly clicked the island and just noticed. All apologies, I edited it, and you can change it back if you’d like.

    I apologize for not putting up much of a fight in this game. I’m playing pretty much like a newbie, which is strange considering I’ve been playing one form of A&A or another since the original came out all those years ago. Just one of those games, I guess. I’ll keep plodding along, and see where it goes.

  • I never use tech (I just used it for the first time in like 12 years, smashing success), but I’m of the opinion that if my opponent wants to chase good money after bad, I’m happy to let him :) I think most people think that it’s not worth it, which make it worth it if the other guy is the only one spending on it! If anything, I kinda think that any “improvements” don’t take effect until the beginning of the next turn (it’s silly to have 4 bombers on the board the all of a sudden are poof Heavy Bombers wheeee) and take the “gotcha” factor out - not that tech needs to be nerfed any further…

  • I edited out a F from Hopei (orig from Shensi battle) and edited it back in at Yunnan.
    I edited out a Tac and 2 Strats from Kiangsu (orig from Suiyuyan battle) and edited them back in at Yunnan.
    I edited out a F from Kiangsu (orig from the battle off Formosa) and mistakenly edited it back in at India because I misread my writing. Then I edited out that mistake and re-edited it back in at Japan.
    I edited out a Tac from Kiangsu (from Kwangsi, didn’t take part in battle) and edited it back in at India.
    I edited out a F from Hopei (orig from Shan State battle) and edited it back in at India.
