• I was curious if anybody has attempted to incorporate strat bombing of facilities as part of their strategy.  Especially naval and air bases.  I haven’t found any use for it yet and it seems like a waste of time and resources to ever attack them.  Am I wrong here?

If America Anchors at Gibraltar.  It can make sense to bomb the naval base for 2 reasons.

    A. if there fleet is damaged.

    or

    B. To stop them from moving 3 zones and taking Rome.

  • I have in the current game of global we are playing.

UK has long range aircraft and 3 bombers in England, USA has 2 in England.  Been spending about 3 turns so far bombing everything that doesn’t have a fighter to defend it, and when they do I use UK’s long range aircraft to bring in fighter escorts with the bombers to hit Western Germany.  It is really just softening up the territory while I move transports in to land and doing very very well as Germany bought some of the dmg back the first round out of habbit, and now he will have to dump so much cash into repairs when I land that his counter attack will be very weak.  Coupled with the fact that the US landing force in in Gibraltar with a stack of 10 ground units and UK’s fleet at Liverpool, Germany and Italy have to defend just about everywhere.

  • I am a huge fan of german strategic bombing attacks on london….as some of you may already know

  • If sealion is successful, you can bomb the crap out of Gibralter, and nobody can repair it until london is liberated.

If the US lands in Gibraltar after London falls it counts Gibraltar as it’s own until London’s retaken.  So the US repairs it instead.

Not unless an axis power captured it first

LOL, this is something I should have tried on G4 in my PBF game.  Didn’t even see it.

  • I am sure strat. bombing will be different.  (bombing bases in order to stop another allied navy its use might be the more common need.

If the defensive fig. count gets low, it might be advantageous to Strat. bomb.
Defender may not be able to afford to put up defensive fig.

Whoops, good point.  So used to Italy grabbing it.
