      Nope. Were they supposed to have been shipped to customers recently? If so, I must have missed that news.

      They seems available on FMG site… can’t wait…

      I’m with you boboshonda.  As much as I want my new Italian combat units, I am also very anxious to get my France and ANZAC combat dice.  Right now I use black dice with white pips for France and black dice with red pips for ANZAC.  I am SO looking forward to them having their own dice.

      The dice will arrive and ship with the ITALIANS.  There will also be a few other surprise releases during the launch.

      I see a Shogun game… is it true? When it will be released?

      @Fishmoto37:

      Very interesting submarine you have there. Faster than a cruiser and a fleet carrier. Do all countries have this super sub?

      I’m thinking to assign this long-range skill only to german sub to give them more chance to survive and to make long range raids.

      For other ships i’m thinking to down the move to 2 to avoid diffent speed, but i’m looking for historical details about main fleets and patrol\advanced fleets formed by destroyer, CVL and light cruisers to give deeper tactical choices.

      @Imperious:

      Rangers were not really in use in WW2.

      They did have a very small group in training but this is negligible.

      Yeah, you’re right, i’m considering only airborne troops now.

    • Axis&Allies 1936: the World at War (WAW)

      I’m working on a 1936 versione of Axis&Allies: Global 1940.

      The map is 40% completed and based on Supreme Command version with more territories (with an historical focus) and an attention to diplomatic aspect of the game, i would be glad to receive some help in the diplomatic aspects of the game considering that we start with the Spanish Civil War.

      We have some events:

      Spanish Civil War (1936). the players can choose if join or not the war.
      Attack to Ethiopia by Italy (1936)
      Second Sino-Japanese war (1937)
      Anschluss (1938)
      Munich Conference (1938)
      Battle of Khalkyn Gol (1939)
      Non aggression pact between SU and Japan. (1939)
      Molotov-Ribentropp Pact (1939)

      with diplomatic consequences on neutral, pro-axis and pro-allies blocks:

      Central Europe block (Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria): Pro AXIS
      Balcan block (Poland, Yugoslavia, Albania, Greece, Turkey): Pro ALLIES, with Turkey can switch to Pro-Axis or AXIS, if Germany takes at least two russian VC (work in progress)

      Middle East block:
      Iraq - Pro- Axis
      Iran - Neutral (towards Pro-Axis)
      Saudi Arabia - Neutral
      Afghanistan - Neutral

      Far East:
      Mongolia: Soviet Ally
      Manchukuo: Japan Ally and Puppet State
      Communist China: Pro Soviet. played by Soviet Player.
      Siam: Pro-Axis (Japan)

      African block
      Liberia: Neutral
      Sierra Leone: Neutral

      South American block:
      Venezuela, Mexico, Colombia, Brasil, Chile - Pro-Allies
      Paraguay-Uruguay-Argentina - Neutral ( towards Pro-Axis)

      European block:

      Sweden and Finland: neutral (pro-axis)

      @Stefano1189:

      I love your pictures, but i bought italian units and anzac and french dice in November 2010… today we are near to August… any news or i can think that my bucks are lost? Sorry for impatience, but 9 months are enough to be a little tired.

      Yeah, I made the same pre-order that you did and am anxiously awaiting my new combat units and combat dice.  You just have to be patient a little longer.  Jeremy said that the factory told him production would be finished roughly end of the month.  When you take in the time to ship from China to FMG, then from FMG to all of us, count approximately another two weeks or so.  With any luck, we should all be very happy about mid-August.

      Also, that comment "i can think that my bucks are lost?" is downright insulting.  Even if this project totally fell through, do you really think that FMG would simply keep our money?  Don’t you think that FMG would refund us on our orders?  FMG is an honorable company with excellent customer service.  What’s more, all the delays and failed deadlines are solely the fault of the Chinese factory they have to deal with.  The factory tells Jeremy one thing, then Jeremy clues us all in and when it doesn’t happen, everyone want’s to yell at Jeremy and FMG.  We all just need to chill out.  We all knew going into this that the Italians were going to be the hardest set because it was all new, to FMG, the sculptor, and the factory.  Just try to think about when the Italians are done.  Next will be the Germans which are already moving much faster.  After that the Americans.  The sets will start coming out like clockwork.

      Considering i’m a stakeholder and i spent more than $ 70 it’s my own interest to know the status of this project. So shut up.It’s not my will to insult anyone but Jeremy must pay more attention to these things.

      If, from the beginning, i knew that i have to wait 12-15 months i would be more relaxed.

      I had a question about the naval convoys in Japan Sea. The US attack convoys with 3 submarines and during the Japanese collect income phase i must to subtract 6 IPC from my whole income. The following turn i bought a destroyer and place it in the sea containing the submarines. did i have to subtract again the ipc from my income?

    • RE: Finally, I have my map printed! Oh, yea!!!

      @gsh34:

      Let me start by showing what I had to do in order to make my map. I had to resort to cutting up my existing map so that it would fit on my scanner and then I used Photoshop to put it back together. Along the way, I made many corrections and improvements (in my opinion at least) to the map.  I have it adhered to a sheet of metal and I will be magnetizing all of my pieces and chips so that it can be mounted on the wall where I can leave the game set up between play sessions. If anyone is wondering, I enlarged the map to 84" x 38.5".

      Enjoy.

      Also, a colossal thank you to the one and only Bob_A_Mickelson.  He gave me most of the ideas for areas I needed to improve the map on.  With out his editorial help, my map would be far less than what I can now look at for a long time into the future.

      A big public Thank you to you Bob,
      GSH34

      Beautiful Map! Can i download it from any site?

      No my question is the following statement:

      in Sz 91 we have 1 transport, 1 AC, 1 destroyer, 1 cruiser of english navy. in Sz 104 we have a german cruiser. During combat move phase english warships attack german cruiser and sunk it. In Sz 91 remain AC and the transport.

      During NCM, the transport and the AC can move through the hostile sea zone 104 and go to the sea zone 109 free of enemy ships?

      In my opinion the enemy blockade does effects only during the combat move phase but can be bypassed during NCM if there isn’t any more warships further.

      From sz 91 i attacked a german cruiser with english navy in sz 104 and free the sea zone.

      During NCM a transport can move through sz 104 free from enemy ships to unload in London? Can i move also a warship which doesn’t fight during the Combat phase?

      @FieldMarshalGames:

      Yes, one of the biggest costs is the injection mould.  With a project like this were you are doing 10+ moulds…  The Domestic cost was twice that of Asian Company.  If you notice, WOTC also uses an overseas company to make their small parts.

      Also, we found our sculptor in Eastern Europe which was a fraction of the cost of any quote we got in both US and Canada.

      As this project was on a tight budget, and funded partialy by pre-orders…  we just could not afford to do it any other way.

      Hi Jeremy, the Italian units did arrive to you?
      Thank you for your efforts! Don’t give up!

      i won’t criticise anyone, if someone wanted a ready soup could wait more time.

      maybe a panzer III will be released at the same time as the german soldier with a great coat

      The best option is to make an “early war” set with light tanks, field artilleries and early aircrafts for each nation in global 1940, like pz III and IV for Germany, Valentine and Crusade for UK, M3 stuart and Lee for US, tankettes for Japan and Italy, T-26 and T-28 for Soviet Union, FT-17 Renault for French and Chinese army…

      @Krieghund:

      The same rules apply to Dutch territories in the global game as in the Pacific game.  The US may not take control of them except by recapturing them from the Axis.

      Hi Kevin, considering the neutrality of US with the consequences that US may not take Dutch territories except when taken by Axis, why don’t apply the same rule for Anzac and United Kingdom considering their neutrality towards Japan and the Alliance towards Dutch (although the Dutch capital is occupied by German forces)?

      If UK invades French Morocco, the Morocco remains French if before it isn’t occupied by Axis. Why in global we have the exception of Dutch territories? In my opinion this rule is too favourable for Allies and penalizing the Japan because the Allies grow too fast.

    • RE: World War II in Europe game

      @jim010:

      This has been a project over the last decade and a half for me and a couple partners.

      I began developing a European and Pacific theatre WWII game back in the late 90’s - continously refining the set-up, rules and map over that time.  I have had something pretty balanced for a few years now.  I had always wanted to at some point market this game, but to put out a complete game with pieces is quite beyond what I can do.

      However, I see that Struggle for Europe and Asia sells only a map and rules, so I could do that too.

      Many of the rules we came up with with World War II in Europe (and the Pacific counterpart) I have have seen pop up in later games of Larry’s.  I guess that means that in the end the solutions for certain problems in Axis & Allies will be resolved by different people in similar ways.

      World War II in Europe was meant to be a game that would be slotted in between Axis & Allies/Xeno and Rise and Decline of the Third Reich.  My approach was to go from Axis & Allies/Xeno and move up, rather than go from Third Reich and move down.  I have seen many games pop up, like Europe Engulfed, ETO, Struggle for Europe, Flames in Europe etc …, but have yet to see a game where I think it needs to be.

      Some of the rules that we had come up with are:

      Supply rules
      Terrain - mountains, rivers, coast lines, woodland, desert, high alpine
      Fortresses
      Realistic convoy rules needed to keep units supplied and to collect income over seas
      Stack limits
      Naval interceptions
      Initiative
      Winter Rules
      2 scenarios:  fall 1939 or spring 1941
      Different build times for different units
      Armed neutrals

      I believe that in this type of game, the rules should be standardized across the board with rare exceptions when called for, as is the case of the Soviet Union, Vichy France and China.  I strove to keep things simple and standardized, but have sophistication, particularly in naval combat to bring that part of the game to life.

      Here is a shot of the Europe map.  I am curious to see if there is interest out there.

      If you have AAP40 and AAE40 - then you have all the pieces you need to play this.

      Good… can i print the original files? These are screenshots… 😞
