      @jonpfl

      I can send the file to you by email instead if you’d like. Marti to my knowledge only does dice (and should still do so even when we use the forum this way).

      Yes, if you don’t mind, send to my email.

      I assume I just save the file and load it? I can do at least one move a day typically.

      Thx

      Scramble?.tsvg

      Decide whether to scramble as the Allies. I trust you know all the rules and how battles work.

      Is this play by forum? Is there a way to play by email where you are notified by email and bypassing this forum?

      I remember using a dice server named Marti I think, is that still a thing?

      Yes, I have played 1940 before and generally know the rules and can look up any details I have forgotten (currently playing 1942 on steam and realize there are many things I miss)

      Sure!

      What version would you like to play?

      I am playing A&A 42 on Steam right now but I would really like to play global 1940 again.

      I am sure you will crush but I would like to learn the system again.

    • RE: Neoprene map

      Hello,

      When I ordered it they had a bunch of different sizes I could choose from.

      I am not at home at the moment but if you drop me an email at jonpfl01 at gmail I can get you any info you need.

      My table is roughly 7 feet by 3.5 feet and it just fits with a few inches to spare so I am guessing it is 6.5 feet by 3 feet.

      Before they printed for me they sent me a pic to look at so I could check to make sure they didn’t mess up with scaling.

      Either anniversary or Global was smaller than their size mat by a few inches so they just put a black border.

      The map is AWESOME. Drop me an email and I can take pics later.

      Thx

    • RE: Mongolia question

      @weddingsinger:

      Correct.

      The only possible exception I can think of is if Moscow had already fallen and the U.S. or U.K. had liberated Timguska so it wasn’t Russian.

      Yes, Moscow has fallen BUT that was still Russian territory.

      So, should Mongolia have Russian troops now or should they still be neutral?

      Thx

      Should this move trigger the Mongolians in ALL situations (except Russia has not attacked Korean or Manchuria)?

    • RE: Neoprene map

      @Tallgeese:

      Looks nice, I have a few questions. How is it holding up? Are the edges stitched? What did it cost? And did the smell go away?

      1. It is holding up great, just played a 5 player 1940 Global this past Sat and it is still set up for when we continue in a few weeks.
      2. The edges are not stitched but it was an option.  I thought about doing it but decided against it.
      3. I believe it was $135 which included shipping to Florida
      4. My anniversary neoprene map had a strong smell so I put it outside a few days and it mostly went away.  My global never had smell but I suspect it was older neoprene as it is 2mm and my anniversary is 3mm.

      Thx

    • Mongolia question

      All,

      If USA attacks Korea from Amur, does that give Japan the ability to attack from Manchuria to Amur without Mongolia turning Russian?  Russia is at war with Japan but has not attacked Manchuria or Korea.

      If it matters, there are American troops in both Amur and Korea.

      Thx

      Is neoprene stiff like a board, or roleable like a map?

      Rollable like a mouse pad.  Easy to store, great looking as well

    • Neoprene map

      All,

      I found a company in Hong Kong that does custom neoprene maps.  You just upload a hi res image file and within 2 weeks, you have an awesome map.

      Check out the Anniversary map I just got.  The only problem is that it has a strong smell but you just put it outside to air out.

      OOB map is on top and you can see the Anniversary underneath it (for reference).

      I do not have anything to do with this company, just wanted to let people know a great way to get a neoprene map!!

      This is Global

      @carsonbparker:

      They are done by Ebard and shapeways.  https://www.shapeways.com/shops/ebardmodels

      Here’s a thread talking about them.  They are not red though, you’ll have to paint them.

      https://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=40543.msg1695648#msg1695648

      Actually, I did stumble upon this but the videos I saw had a red generic looking victory city.

      Those ones references above are too expensive for me.

      Thx

      All,

      I am watching videos and I see them using generic red 3d victory cities.

      Can someone tell me where to get these?

      GRASSHOPPER’S G40 CARD DECK

      YouTube video review…

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNjEQzW4On8

      Hello everyone,

      I would like to share with you my card deck customization in hopes that it improves your G40 gaming experience. It’s a professionally made deck of 54 cards which are now available through artscow and can be accessed by clicking the following link…

      http://www.artscow.com/gallery/playing-cards/grasshopper-n15lei8zzj4y

      It includes all 37 oob national objectives, all 12 oob research & development breakthroughs, 2 reference info cards, and 3 blowup space cards for large fleets.

      Cheers,

      YG

      All,

      Is this deck the original rules for A&A Global 1940?

      It looks really cool but I don’t want to order something that is a variant.

      Also, do you suggest 1 deck per power so people can peruse during the games.

      Thx

      Does anyone have a nice neutral (showing axis, allies and strict) player aid showing troop count?  Or know a link to one?

    • RE: Differences between ships

      @slo:

      We are having a hard time telling the difference between the types of ships, is there a quick way to tell which is which…other then the battleships are the biggest?

      What I did (which might be horrific to some) is I got a sharpie white oil based pen and put dots on the warships in question (1 dot for destroyer, 2 dots for cruiser and 3 dots for battleship) on both the top and bottom.

      I had a h*ll of a time telling the difference between transports and other boats.

      No more though!!

      Thx

    • RE: Sired's Map project - Updated- 4/16 - files available see first post

      @Sorin:

      My mat came in last week and it looks amazing! Unfortunately I can’t seem to get images uploaded. I found a place overseas that I went with since it is one large playmat, not two like it would have been if I went with Inked Playmats. Simply amazing the detail and how it looks. Thanks sired, you did a great job on this!! Currently have a game planned with a buddy in two weeks. :)

      I went to the website you mentioned but didn’t find a custom mousepad size (or a rectangle size that would work).

      Can you provide a specific link or more info?

      I found this link and was curious if anyone has used?  shop.x-raypad.com/custom-axis-allies-g40-play-mat/

      Thx
