    • RE: Global 2nd edition Q+A ( AAG40.2)

      Hi P@nther  :-)

first, thxs for your fast answers:

Convoy Disruption occurs in the Collect Income Phase of the nation that is affected. In your case in the Collect Income Phase of ANZAC.

ok that is clear so far.

So if there are Japanese warships in SZ 54 during ANZAC’s Collect Income Phase CCD occurs automatically.
It has nothing to do with Japanese moves during Japanese move phases.
      HTH :-)

Sorry but i need to ask again, why should i destroy IPC´s when i can capture them on my next turn? I cant find nothing in the rules that that happens automaticly but i can as well nothing find in the rules that it is an Option! I guess you are right P@nther but i would be happy to have a clarification from Krieghund or gamerman.

2 Questions: Convoy Disruption and UK National Objective

      1.) Conduct Convoy Disruption (CCD):
is CCD an option or is it a must do, if warships are present?
Take, for example, Japan has warships in sea zone 54, but wants to conquer “New South Wales” next round, and I do not want to use convoy disruption, to capture all the Anzac IPCs.
Can I decide not to use the convoy disruption in this case when Anzac collects his income, in Triple A there is no option for this?

      2.) About UK-Pacific NO:
5 PUs if UK Pacific controls both Kwangtung and Malaya, and is at war with Japan.
Need I also to control all the original UK Pacific territories to collect this NO?

      Thxs Wittmann for your help!

So the rules for subs are the same like there are in Global 1940 right?

    • RE: Which version buy; 1942 2nd Edition; the version from 2009 or 2012?

My new version of Axis & Allies 1942 2nd Edition has arrived and I like the map and the new sculptures very well.
After studied the new rules i have some short questions?

      1.) Gibraltar:
Is there no Gibraltar rule? Can any power enter and exit the Med regardless of who owns it?

      2.) Submarines “Surprise Strike”
If you have a sub on sub only battle, do both sides get to fire with a Surprise Strike? Basically, the only units that get to defend from Surprise Strike are submarines, right? Attacker has a Surprise Strike of 2 and the Defender has a Surprise Strike of 1, and this every Round.

3.) I can build a factory on an island as long as the island has at least the value of 1 IPC right?

@__seththenewb__ I am willing to help the Global 1939 card installed in Triple A as a module.
I’m learning XML and parallel I develop a small test card to be familiar with the engine. I guess I need until the end of April to get a better insight into the engine to get.

Well, that you work on the map for global 1939, then we dont need to work with 2 people on the map.
What resolution or scaling do you want to use for the card, I’m all for the resolution of “Global 1940” or “Total World War”, the scaling of the “New World Order” is too small in my opinion? PM me if i you need help!

@ Rolf Thxs for the information

Big Big “Thanxs” Guys for all your answers and help!

That’s why I appreciate this forum so much!

I will buy the 1942 2nd Edition than! It is like wittman said, the double price than the Version from 2009 but  I think that it is worth.

And yes, i was like P@nther and Hobbes said, confused about the nomencalture.

Thxs also to BJCard for the tip about the space on the map.

This nomenclature is confusing and incorrect.  AA42 is no more a 2nd edition of Revised than Revised is a 2nd edition of Classic.  However, I agree that a lot of people share that misconception.

That is true Krieg … I thought I am familiar with Axis and Allies versions, but definitely no and I’m sure there are probably more peoples with the same problem. But no problem as long as you and the community here, are there to help!  :-D

    • Which version buy; 1942 2nd Edition; the version from 2009 or 2012?

i wonna buy 1942 2nd Edition, but im not sure which version is the better one, the 2nd Edition from 2009 or the newest 2nd Edition version from 2012?

What are the differences, lesser units or only some rules changes?
What is your experience, which version do you have?

Can i use the new units for my global 1940 game, i mean are the colors of the units the same or are they differrent from europe 1940?

@__seththenewb__: how is it going something new on this project?

Do you have now a good map file for global 1939?

Do you only make the grafic for this map, or do you programming the xml files for TripleA with all the rules too?

      @Gargantua:

      “Die in Europa”
That sounds like quite the new game you’re working on there Tigerman? :P

Sorry Gargantua, this was a misunderstanding  8-)
There is no new map with this name.

ok i get an answer from HGB Europe, they have the new map revised, only the picture on the website is the old one! But the big map is only available in the USA.

@Star of Africa: from where have you all the units and roundels for global 1939, from HGB too?

    • RE: How much memory (RAM) does your computer have?

      @Veqryn:

If I specify it too low, then if triplea needs the memory and it doesn’t exist you will get a “java heap space” error.

….maybe this will help you a little bit veqryn,

i have 8 GB Ram in my PC.

When i load a save Game, test somethings than sometimes after loading  the fourth or fifth save game, than the errors  “jave head space” occurs.
Java takes normaly 950000 K. It looks for me that java or TripleA does not release respectively dont get free the memory.
