    Any Russians here?

  • XiXXDannyXiXX was Russian but he seems to have disappeared.

  • Я гаврию по-русскы. Мне нравится зто.

sorry if I butchered the fine russian language.

  • Well, I’m Bulgarian wich is danm close!

    Моито име е гиорги.

  • Bulgaria is cool. Hey I got a question for ya. What was Bulgaria’s role in WWII? Were they facist? Were they allied with Germany or just with Rumania who was allied with Germany. Hope I didn’t offend you.

  • Wasn’t there a Coup in the early 30s which was pro-Hitler? Or am I thinking of another Balkans country?

  • I believe they were part of the axis, they did some garrsion duty in the balkans, late in the war when the Red army was comming to their border they switched sides. They did not serve on the eastern front though from all my sources.

  • They WERE Axis. That’s about all I know…

Between a rock & a hard place if you ask me.

  • Well they actually had a navy that helped the Germans out in the Med.

  • Their navy did help out in the Med??? That I have never heard of. Did they do escort duty, hunt British subs, or just raid?? If you got any information about this subject TG Moses VI please share. The idea that they were helping in the Med sounds interesting. No book I have ever read made a statement like that, but at the same time Bulgaria isn’t talked about much either.

  • Wait a minute, the Med? Are you sure you don’t mean Black Sea? I can’t see how the Bulgar ships could get into the Med–be interesting if you got the info…

Of course, if we’re talking about the Black Sea, we’re talking about the Red Navy. I do know the Rumanians helped assemble some German Type-II (type II-is that right?) U-boats to take on the Soviet fleet operating there. That’s all I know…

Sadly, I don’t know as much information. All I’ve seen are their spiffy naval uniforms and some dated pics of ships that they used in WWII. :)

    Black Sea then. :)

All I know is that they were the only Axis country that refused to take on Hitler’s anti-semitic laws. The king of Bulgaria protected all the Jews in bulgaria proper, though those in Thessaly and Macedonia which were part of Bulgaria did die in Death camps (about 14,000).

  • yes, we were on the axis side until the soveits came. when they were in romania we converted to the allies and we fought agansit the germans. during the time we were on the axis side we refused the battle agansit the soveits. all we did is minorly attack greece. we refused to praticipate in the holocaust. in 1943 hitlar murdered our king. I have great grampas that have fought agansit the germans and agansit the greeks.

  • Thank you for the information Geze, I have to admit I study World War 2 alot but often neglected Bulgaria, not on purpose But at the sametime I should of tried harder.
