Plans to turn Guantanamo Bay into a death camp.

I am laughing, but it is a laugh of insanity. So, if it has a death row and an execution chamber it is a death camp. Well it looks like every prison in every state with a death penalty has a death camp.

Horrifying as it appears, this does not surprise me. I wonder if people in the Canadian gov’t had knowledge of this camp as a reason for not turning suspected Al Queda over to the US during op Apollo.
This kind of thing falls right in line with the whole “illegal invasion” thing-y in Iraq.

The 2nd paragraph of the article says that those there will also have trials.

This is kind of irrelevant. Just because a term is applied simultaneously to similar occurrances does not imply one has anything to do with the other.
In other forums i’m pretty well established as pro-semetic (whatever that means), but i do not think that the Jews have any claim to the term “death camp”.
I gotta’ admit, reading the article, that pretty much looks like what Guantanemo Bay is looking like - people go there to get killed basically.
Same thing goes for other terms as well - holocaust, for example. It has taken on new meaning in the 20th century, so does that make anyone who applies it in different circumstances, according to its rough definition, being insensitive to Jewish people?

You are right CC, no one race has a copyright on a word. Like that lady who wanted to copyright the phrase “lets do it”. My rational was that when I hear “death camp” the first thing that happens to spring to my mind is the holocaust. I think holocaust and then my mind links that to attempted genocide. The logic is flawed and i doubt it makes any sence to anyone reading it (yeah i am a spazz, ya get used to it).

But enough about me being stupid and crazy.

Come on don’t believe everything you read on the internet. I’m not saying that this plan hasn’t been proposed but that doesn’t mean it will be enacted. And just because they are thinking about building a “death Chamber” doesn’t mean they are planing to kill off hundreds of poor innocent terrorists.
