• Who do you guys think is gonna win? I believe if TO plays the Eagles will win, but who knowss, I’m guessing if all goes as planned the Pats are gonna dominate.

Let us hope there are no “wardrobe malfunctions” this year!

  • Please god let the Eagles win as I hate the Pats….next year, it’s Chiefs all the way!

  • Eagles baby…

    Prediction:

    Patriots 30
    Eagles 17

That looks about right to me DM. The Pats might not be flashy, but they’re really really really good and that beats flashy…They remind me of my (how the mighty have fallen) Niners back in the heyday.

Well, 7-7 at Half. Pretty good game.

Now, Sir Paul is on. 8)

  • Let us hope there are no “wardrobe malfunctions” this year!

The Go Daddy spoof was funny. I can imagine an FCC stiff falling out of his chair anticipating the complaints now :)

Nice game so far, did it seem to anyone else like the Pats woke up after the Eagles took the lead? I think both teams started making their halftime adjustments at about the 10 minute mark during the 2nd quarter.

  • Well at least with all the departures it will be super tough for the Pat’s to make another run next year…and next year…it’s the year of the Chiefs.

  • If McNabb hadn’t choked the rest of the Eagles might in fact have been good enough to win that game. I’ll be interested to hear if McNabb gets criticized for playing the way he did, or if people will look at his stats and think he did better than was actually the case.

TO was impressive though, to an extent which surprised me. Now was Jevon a disappointment or was NE’s O-line that good? I think it was the later.

Why did so many Eagles have cramps, too much goofing off, not enough water drinking 2-3 days ago.

Will the Eagles collapse now or will Reid find a way to get them up for next year? That’s a big question since they signed big contracts last offseason to get to over the hump this year…

Why I never bet on the SuperBowl:
    Pats win - yes
    Pats score first - no
Pats cover the spread - no
Total points over 40.5 - yes

    Good game all in all

  • I find i am frequently agreeing with you ydavid.

And you can’t only blame McNabb for the loss. His receivers dropped passes like they were molten lava rocks. And that onside kick was terrible . . . its like the Eagles tried to lose.

Having said that, it was much closer than i expected - i thought the Pats would’ve crushed the Eagles. Nice having Owens afterall??

  • I’m disgusted with how McNabb played…how many passes did he gun and then pray that it would be caught by a receiver??? seemed like a lot…the Pats could’ve won by a much greater margine if they didn’t get so many penalties…I think both teams played below average and the Eagles played more below average…I think the blame of the loss should rest on McNabb’s shoulders…too many interceptions at KEY moments…I guess he couldn’t handle the pressure(what happened to the Eagles’s offensive line)

I think McNabb defineately choked, but the offence for both teams was poor in general, or possibly the Defenses were realy good.

  • I dont’ think the Pats offense was terrible DF. Lets give some credit to Philly you had the 2nd or 3rd best overall D in the league (or course the Pats had the 2nd or 3rd, just don’t remember who was best technically).

I didn’t really see the Eagles receivers dropping too many passes. I did see McNabb throwing 4 yard outs behind receivers, at their feet, and over their heads. I also saw him get lucky that a few more passes weren’t picked off (one went right thru the Pats cb’s hands…)

The Patriots didn’t play a perfect game, but were generally consistent in their own boring, yet effective, style. McNabb on the other hand, probably did choke. He never settled down and his passing was off all night. Then we get to the fact that he was still calling for the team to huddle up with less than 3 minutes to go and them needing 2 scores… and that was after the center tried to get him to call plays at the line. Inexcusable. The question really is, did McNabb not go into the 2 minute drill after Reid told him to or did it slip Reid’s mind as well? Either way, the ‘veteran leadership’ seemed to choke on the Eagles offense…

what happened to the Eagles’s offensive line

The Pats D line and backers- yeah, they’re pretty good.

I think the blame of the loss should rest on McNabb’s shoulders

I agree, but normally it’s easier to point at the coach.

Onside kicks are so iffy, if they’d had all 3 timeouts I presume they would have kicked deep, but not having them…

I’m still really surprised New England gave up that late touchdown, that was a prime time breakdown in the coverage and opened a bit of a door. Not something New England normally does in big games. I’m guessing it was caused by the second string safety who came in to replace the one injured on special teams during the first half.

  • I’m guessing that touchdown was allowed because the Pats thought they couldn’t lose….they probably weren’t playing the tightest defense they had been playing during that play

  • I’m guessing that touchdown was allowed because the Pats thought they couldn’t lose….

Unless I’m misunderstanding you, absolutely not. You never let a team back into a game by choice…

they probably weren’t playing the tightest defense they had been playing during that play

That’s what happened, the coverage package changed and broke down, then they got burned. It was a big mistake! What New England wanted to do was let the Eagles catch passes for 7-8 yards and then tackle them inbounds so the clock would keep running. That’s what they had been doing the entire drive. They were playing it safe, so that Philly couldn’t score the way they did and wouldn’t have a chance to score and get the ball back.

Yeah, not to mention the more McNabb put the ball in the air the better the odds of a turnover.

  • Yep, he’s lucky it wasn’t more than 3.

  • very lucky

  • sorry im late, but ill add my too lincolns.
I HATE THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
they are now the only other team to do what the Boys of the 90s did, 3 bowls in 4 years.

  • Steelers did 3 in 4 years too, but that is basically all they did.
