    • RE: FMGC 2013 - Planning, Roster, Suggestions, Invites

      A lot of these ideas are great, and we will take them in consideration when planning FMGC 2013.  Thanks for starting the post and we will do our best to make next year even better than the last!

      The only thing I can say at this time, is we are a little concerned about space.  Jeremy, Jamie(Rorschach) and I have spoke about this before, and although we truly, truly LOVE the 420 Wing Association building, it may just not hold us all if we grow significantly next year.  Which I believe we will grow significantly with the huge success we had this year!

      We have discussed that perhaps, if we have to move, is to look at the RCAC Royal Canadian Armoured Corps Headquarters in Downtown Oshawa.  This building has a boat load of history, being built in 1866 and becoming the Headquarters for the Armoured Corps at the beginning of WW1, it might be the next best thing that will suit our needs and still maintain a war type theme.

      It is also close to restaurants, pubs and just that much closer to hotels.  One thing about Downtown Oshawa, is the zombies that are walking around!  LOL!

      Here are some images I found online.

      Tank outside of the building with a plaque of fallen soldiers in WW2.

      Although, the Armoury would be a huge jump in size when we might not need it just yet.

      Perhaps Jeremy can work his kungfu and see if the 420 wing would allow us to use their private back room.

      Thanks again Gargantua for starting this!  We can always use help and I hope this topic continues to grow all year!

    • RE: FMGC 2012 Was a great event and a MAJOR Success

      It was definitely an AWESOME weekend!  Thank you all for coming out!

      I was one of the Game Marshals (sporting the dog tags) walking around.  I should have introduced myself as TwistedAries.  Unfortunately, I did not have a chance to get in on a game of global with you guys.  Although, I was in a very LONG 10 hour game of Anniversary edition?  Don’t ask!  LOL!

      You guys wearing uniforms of the countries that you were playing, was awesome!  It was interesting to watch you guys all surrounding a table, in military uniform, strategically planning your next move!  And Gargantua, dressed in the U.S. Marines Dress uniform?  That was HARDCORE!

      See you all next year!

      Terrific table!  I especially like the padding all around it, complete with nice curves at the corners – it looks very professional.  Are those casino-style chips I see in one part of the picture?

      Thanks!  Why yes those are poker chips you see in the picture.

      What about those dice towers?  Did you make them or are they available commercially somewhere?

      I made those towers.  They will be available shortly for everyone’s enjoyment.  PM me if you are interested.

      Cool!  Are you going to do a Soviet one, too?

      Yep!  I will be doing all six of the nations in AA50 along with China.  I will also be doing a France and ANZAC one for AAG40.  As well, there will be more that are none Axis & Allies.

      Some pics of the towers are attached.

      I Will be discussing it with Jeremy from FMG this weekend at the FMG Board Gaming Weekend.

      I will keep you posted!

      Thanks!

      I have put everything in one file and also paired the nation setup with their NO’s together on a single page.

      Can we get this in PDF format?

      Hope you don’t mind GrayBlaZe, but I converted your chart to a pdf file for you and everyone else in case they wanted it.

    • RE: Alpha+2 Global, Europe and Pacific Setup and NO charts - FINAL.

      @Gargantua:

      Yes I also found those omissions as well.

      Also something about the wording was wrong regarding the Soviet NO for Berlin.

      I fixed the wording on the Soviet NO.

      @Gargantua:

      And if the NO and setup charts for each country were TOGETHER as oppossed to a seperate pieces.  It strange having German and Soviet setups on the same piece of paper :(

      Yeah it is a little weird to have them on the same sheet but they were intended to be printed out, cut out individually and glued together on a card or laminated so that the setup is on the front and the NO’s is on the back of the card.  Similar to the AA50 cards.
