• Yanni or cystic- I have been searching everywhere for a legitimate copy of Ironblitz, however the two listed on ebay are way too steep for the quality of the game - one’s like 90.00 the other’s in the sixties. SB suggested asking about playing in the forums- what is this? how do we gain permission? and how does it work? a link would be sufficient.

  • Word of advise, Don’t get Iron Blitz! It is the must buggy piece of software out there. You’re much better with the original.

  • Finding Iron Blitz is a challenge and isn’t really worth it. If you want to do a play by forum game, start a thread for yourself with someone in the games forum.

  • Basically if i’m looking to play a game (PBEM) i advertise for a partner. Some will even try a multi-player game.
Go to the games section and request a game, specifying play conditions (2nd edition, russia restricted, bid, etc.) and request for fellow gamers with whom you negotiate terms for the games (“i’d like to play the allies in an RR game, giving the axis a bid of 8” for example).
Check out the other games to see how they are played out - how territories and units are listed and how moves are made. When dice rolling is required most of us use “Dicey” - a dice rolling program (http://linksync.net/login.html - follow the prompts - it’s really simple), and we get our maps from the AAMC website - actually nice well workable maps - look in the supply depot - something beta . . . .
And Bob’s your uncle . . . (as they say in Canada).

  • @cystic:

    what does this mean?

  • It’s an expression taken from the British - some parliament member named Bob something was known for excessively helping out family members. If Bob was your uncle, then things would come easy for you - “when you’re looking for a job in the civil service, you hand in an application, and Bob’s your uncle, you should be getting the job within the week”.
We just use it to say “and the rest is easy/straightforward”.

  • thanks guys. :)

  • You’re much better with Mapviewer’s A&A Module. IT much easier to play online and the AI in IB is a joke.

  • i think i would prefer setting up the board manually and just moving the pieces around according to what the players do. this way i could look at it anytime, and i tried using the map thing that you can download once, and i couldn’t even figure out how to put pieces on the board, let alone move them around!
