  • Thanks for the scramble and yes I would have. That’s the one thing I really don’t like about my buy and the G1 attacks, it opens up me losing my trn/ca to a sub shot. But I really want to have that bomber and I also like having the mech/arm. I’m still playing around with my buys and attacks with Germany. I’m also thinking I should bring the one tac over to sz110 instead of the baltic states. I underestimated how often people would scramble … . but I guess I could get away with it some before because I was threatening a sealion.

    I beat MrG the first time I tried this out. And we’ve got another game going to test whether someone who’s seen it and knows what to expect can beat/stall the Barbarossa. That game’s not too far ahead of this one, but it’s looking promising early. He scrambled both times and I lost air both times, but was able to clear the ships/RAF like the odds tell me I should’ve. I can chalk the first scramble as a fluke decision, the 2nd scramble as a personal choice based on his playstyle/priorities, but a 3rd scramble in 3 games and one against another opponent has all the makings of a trend. Maybe you and Noll(if he’s still reading this) could answer my question. Would you scramble into sz110 facing an ss, bb, 2ftr, 2tac, 2bmb and knowing that it’s a G1 Barbarossa with no chance of a sealion? Noll, would you scramble in this situation minus a tac? I already know your answer to that last one vance, stupid dice. I got a little of that back in Finland and sz113. It’s a dice game, they do that from time to time.

  • Pearl Harbor is a good move for a J1 DOW, between that and sz35/Phi I kill 61 ipc’s worth of equipment and US only makes an extra $20 assuming they take brazil. It’s a net worth for me imo, especially since it’s usually a lot more painful to kill once it escapes and consolidates.  :mrgreen:

    The question now is whether a G1 Barbarossa + a J1 DOW is a good move. Stop me if you can :wink:

  • That reminds me, I’ll be heading out in a couple of hours to play some global with like 8+ other guys. I love our Axis and Allies group meetups. I probably won’t have another post today.

    And true about the ICs. But you only have so much $$$ to spend and there are two brush fires that WILL become raging infernos if US doesn’t stop them. That’s the crux of this strat, can US contain both of them in time?

  • Goddammit I screwed up the chinese NCM and had to use Edit mode to move them.  When I removed the Chinese fighter I discovered could not add it where I wanted it!  So I put an American fighter instead.  That means I won’t be able to attac with it but I can defend with it.  sucks.
