Does anyone have any particular knowledge of Anglo-Indian politics in WWII?

Ghandi was against foreign rulers. He would not switch the brits with the nazies. What good would that do ? He would have rebelled against any foreigners, brits, nazies or japs. Ghandi just wasen’t ready to rebell in 1940 anyway.

I believe that The Nazi’s did try to coup British Rule in India before and during the war and also attempted to form the Tiger Legion http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indische_Legion
India would definitely gone independent. They had 10 million plus die in famine that was a result of Britain having to feed home England first before her colonial subjects. I would say the Indians would have been pretty pissed about that.

Word would have spread and every Indian with an ‘itch’ of nationalism would have rebelled. Japan would also watch this event with excitment.
