RE: Complaint about Set 3
i played a game today that included multiple aircraft in it. i also think that the rules that are involved in the role of aircraft are in need of some rewriting. I lost 2 snipers and 4 snlf fanatics before i was able to take down only one of his aircraft.
I think they should only be able to attack solders in the open or on hill but not in forest cover. When it comes to vehicles there should be a bonus on cover saves in forests

RE: Spotters: Do They Die Too Easily?
Something that has worked for me is to have one FO and three mortars placed in a line across the playing field to triangulate on either one or many targets. Haven’t lost an FO yet

RE: Axis & Allies Naval Miniatures
i would by it to if it was different from the original. all of the rules and turns would have to be different to accommodate the differences in battle forms. It is going to take longer to move and attack on the sea then on the ground. Cover will have to be retooled obviously

I was under the impresion the it actualy fires something at the head of the RPG. If this is true it has an amazing targeting computer.

"Star Trek" technology on the modern battle field

I cant find a better article, but the technology uses a type of radar to detect and intersept the RPG and destroy the explosive part allowing the projectiles impact to be absorbed by the armor. If it really works like they say it does it could help to protect lives. Too bad it does not protect from land mines and improvised explosives or IED’s. Kinda cool though.

RE: Spotters: Do They Die Too Easily?
you could just say that they can’t be targeted at long range but can be at medium and short

RE: Spotters: Do They Die Too Easily?
i found it helpfull to keep them moving and bring them out when they are needed. Kinda like a booster to my mortars and aircraft. They are weak though. Maybe there should have a bonus in cover on hills.

RE: The French Resistance
Speaking of city play, there needs to be an in city battle map. You could have special rules for individual units. You could even have hidden units that reveal themselves when an enemy apeares

RE: Axis & Allies Miniatures Set 3: Contested Skies
Bring on the forward observers. Its about time we will be able to fire over mountains. One thing though, how will the planes work. For speclations sake are they going to release a “air” map for dog fights. Probably not but this is going to be an awesome addition. I wonder if the point amounts will be raised by 100.

RE: Favorite Army
Soviet Union all the way. Next to the Americans they are the most well rounded force. I was even playing and winning with them before the snipers of set II.

RE: Possible Paratrooper House rule??
I think that the paratrooper rules are good. The question i have is do you collect the initiative from a paratrooper that has not entered play or do you have to wait untill he is on the board

RE: Geek knows Geek.
While i did not meet my significant other on-line i am seeing another pattern forming here. I am also a vet but of the latest war. I spent 5 years as a Marine in the airwing. I now attend college for ancient literature and Archeology. I am also an ardent student of warfare and leadership. i travel often and will be driving to Honduras from Oklahoma at the end of December. So what level a I, in fact what kind of geek am i.

RE: Type 2 Ka-Mi Amphibious Tank
i am kinda split on the idea of a “hide” rule. On one hand it would even the playing field for some units, making them a chance to attack. But on the other it just would not be practical for the game. The game is designed for some one to be able to take advantage of there surroundings and to use it to the enemies disadvantage.
Besides if you want to sneak up on someone just drop some “screaming eagles” and there captain and do some damage.

RE: Type 2 Ka-Mi Amphibious Tank
but Japan has to have something that gives them, at least, a chance to contend in the game. At least they got Paratroopers and a sniper.

RE: Axis & Allies Miniatures Set II Previews
The Polish Calvalryman is a nice touch to the game. Thay will be easy to use in groups of 3 or 4 against soldiers. Im thinking the best way to use them will be to hide and rush machine gun nests.
