The battle only lasted for 2 rounds…sorry for this f*ck up. :S
But it went quicker than expected. :D I am not used to it ;-)I saved the Russian TG after the first round as well as all the commisars.
Did help the Russians much.
The German forces were too overwhelming I believe. -

happy new year first of all!
Are you still looking for a game?
If so, I would recommend to play The Captains Expansion!
It got a lot of new units and game mechanics, that lift global40 to a complete new level!
All the rules may seem overwhelming at the beginning, but all the new units are intuitiv and “self-explaining” (paratroops can land behind enemies lines, German U-boats can form a Wolfspack, Armies and Army Groups can be formed etc.)If you are interessted, let me know and I will be happy to start a game and guide you through the first steps.

Indeed! This lonely wolf caused a lot of headacjes to the Australian high command and it took them several rounds to get rid of it.

Hello Rosco and welcome.
As mentilned by barnee and The Captain, the Expansion house rule sets woild be the perfect match for you. It allows you to buy both units once jet fighter become available.
I play the Expansion rule set for over a year now and can highly recommend it! I can’t go back to the standard G40 anymore. :-)On firdt sight the rulebook may be overwhelming, but after 2-3 rounds of 1 game the rules and gameplay become natural and opens whole new universe of options and fun.
I would be glad to play a game of this ruleset against you to give you a taste of this awesome game.
