Thanks for the excellent work on the charts, they’re really good. My favorite is the 2.2+ style.

    • RE: Sample Quick Setup Chart for Alpha +.2

      @Get:

I would also like to make a request to anyone that has a scanner: to scan the pages of the Europe rule book which contain the unit profiles & stats, i believe they’re located way in the back of the booklet.

      upload them in .PNG format

      Thank you!  :-D

Meethos if you’re reading this, hopefully you can help me out one last time  :-)

Do you mean the Game Piece Directory which shows the silhouettes of each nations units or the profiles that describes the rules for each unit? If its the later then they’re the exact same as the ones in the Pacific manual w/ the excpetion of the air base scramble rule saying that the UK isn’t an island. FYI the Game Piece Directory doesn’t contain any stats.

Thats odd. The first link downlowd should have a copy of the unedited PNG in it, but here it is.  Hope this one works.

Sorry about that, I rescanned them in this time as a PNG and updated the media share file link above. If they are too large scale them down by exactly 50% and they should come out the correct size without any loss of detail.

Edit: Here is the above file already scaled down, they should be the correct size now.

They look great thanks for your hard work. Though I did notice a couple things… J/K :-D

I should have access to my copy of Europe later today so I could post the roundels for you later tonight. Do you want each roundel a seperate PNG or can I scan them together? If your using photoshop I could post them as a PSD with each on their own layer.

      Keep up the great work.

    • RE: AAG40 FAQ

      @polybios:

Quote from wikipedia-article about “Axis and Allies”

“To streamline the game and correct balance issues, Global 1940 is under revision and a new ruleset will be published in 2011”.

I guess this means that only new rules will be published 2011 (But how? Downloadable rulebooks on the official website?) or is there a plan to launch a complete new set (with new boards etc.)?

I’m pretty sure this is in reference to the work Larry is doing with the alpha+.2 setup. When he is finished it will most likely be posted in PDF form like the AAP40 faq. He is also going to submit it to WotC to be included in future reprints of the game. Though the future reprints may or may not occur.

    • RE: ANZAC Autonomy! Anzac declares war on Japan separately from the UK

In my opinion, I don’t think there is much benefit to ANZAC declaring war seperatly as it would just give Japan free reign to capture ANZACs territory and destroy their fleet without having to worry about bringing the USA into the war. I’m not sure that the risk is worth the reward of being able to claim the NO that they will soon lose as soon as Japan attacks ANZAC. It may also force UK Calcutta do declare war on Japan to assist ANZAC prior to the USA entering the war, which again is to Japans benefit.

    • RE: Alpha+.2 Retro themed Global 1940 Charts

Again excellent work. I like what you did with the Axis and Allies logos.

Just a couple things I noticed, though all are cosmetic and relatively minor issues:

      • On the USA chart “Order of Play” isn’t underlined, though its underlined on both Japanese and UK charts.

      • Also the underlines under “Turn Sequence” and “Combat Sequence” didn’t get swapped out and thus the underline extends past “Turn Sequence” and isn’t long enough for “Combat Sequence”.

All-in-all great work. Can’t wait to see more.

Edit: Just noticed one more thing. The USA chart is missing the Axis & Allies logo in the upper right hand corner.

    • RE: UK merger income in G40

If you merged the incomes then you would need to give some incentive for the UK to care about spending its IPC’s on the pacific side. I suppose you could use some negative NO’s. For example:
The UK must pay 5 IPC (to the bank) if the Axis controls Calcutta.
The UK must pay 5 IPC (to the bank) if the Axis controls Hong Kong.

This would make it in the United Kingdoms interest not to neglect the pacific side of the map, in case the Japanese victory conditions aren’t enough.

    • RE: ANZAC Autonomy! Anzac declares war on Japan separately from the UK

Heres a quote from the Official AAP40 FAQ (which also applies to Global):

The United Kingdom and ANZAC have a special relationship, and they are treated as one for political purposes. Either power is free to declare war on Japan at the beginning of the Combat Move phase of any of its turns, resulting in a state of war between both powers and Japan.

    • RE: NO Chart for Alpha+.2

I’d be interested in seeing these:

IPC chart to 100 (10 per line) easier to see.
      Victory City / Weapons Developement.
Turn Order / Round Turn (keep track of where your at)

      Love your NO chart btw.

    • RE: Can the US enter the Soviet Union via the Soviet Far East….

No they can’t. As Gargantua said. If the USSR is not at war with Japan, then the soviet territories on the pacific map are considered neutral and as such an ally even if its at war may not enter the neutral territory.

Once either Japan or the USSR declare war on each other may the other allied nations land or fly over the USSR territories on the pacific side of the map.

Only Japan and Russia can end the non-agression pact NO, if they so choose.

Edit: Looks like Kreighund answered while I was typing this out, so what he said.

    • RE: Alpha+.2 Retro themed Global 1940 Charts

Excellent work! I love the look and the addition of the globe.

The only critique I have is with the allies logo. My suggestion would be to either straighten it out, if you want to keep it on the left side; or if you want to leave at an angle, then move it towards the center, like Funcioneta suggested, since everything else on the chart is aligned to a grid.

      Keep up the excellent work.

Edit: Just noticed you have the headings for “Combat Sequence” and “Turn Sequence” swapped on all three charts shown. Also “Victory Conditions” isn’t underlined.

    • RE: New Axis & Allies Global War Variant (free map)

Does it have a specific date?

According to Deepblue its a Summer (June/July) 1941 start date with some variations.

I think, but not certain, that the variations refer to a winter 1941 start date for the Pacific front.

      Hope that helps.
