As a reminder, but the penalty is if purcheses and combat moves are not completed by the ding, no combat moves are allowed. this is usally enough insentive to move it along. i noticed when there is more than 3 people playing alot of side conversation and distractions come up especially when beer is involved. also wives calling"when you comming home?"

RE: House Rules - Turn time
when many people are playing i find it useful to use an egg timer. 10 min. to set purcheses and combat moves.

RE: To all my fellow painters….
Even Better… find yourself a nice Korean girl after the holidays, and get laid, instead of worrying about how to make your paint stick to A&A pieces :D
I second that. Use your stick and paint the girl! :-D

RE: Do Air Bases / Naval Bases, stop the Blitz?
Why? That makes no sense. Why would a naval base stop a land blitz? BTW if a TT with a naval or airbase is captured, does base useable by attacker or is it destroyed?
-
RE: Q about the new transport rule
IMO, if transports or any other ship enters SZ with enemy sub, sub should always have the opyion of suprize attack shot. Thats the way i play it.

RE: Suggestions on Escorts/Interceptors Alpha+
What is the difference between the fighters that are damaged and the fighters that missed?
-
RE: Suggestions on Escorts/Interceptors Alpha+
Ok, so 1 german ftr and 1 UK ftr are damaged and return to base. 1 German ftr locks on to bomber. What happens to other German and UK ftr? They return to base also?

RE: Q about the new scrambling rules
But then you would never send unescorted transports to amphibous assault a TT containing a airbase with fighters present. Is that correct?
-
RE: Q about the new scrambling rules
Can surviving transports unload or do they have to retreat?@Krieghund:
Yes. However, being the attackers, the transports are not automatically sunk (unless they can’t retreat for some reason). The fighters would get a round of defensive fire, then the surviving transports (if any) could retreat.

RE: Entrenched Positions For Infantry and Artillery
great idea. take it one step further, maybe a separate battle for the victory city inside the territory.

RE: Suggestions on Escorts/Interceptors Alpha+
This is interesting and well thought out. Must be tested. I still like the idea of reducing cost of all fighters to 6 ipc. helps out in alot of other situations too. especially in the Pacific.
The external gas tanks to extend range of fighters makes sense, but i dont think it should just be a given. Bombing raids against Germany were only marginally sucsessful with extremely high casualty rates until new improved fighters were developed by the Allies to extend range of escorts to accompany them all the way into Germany and back. What i mean is extended fighter range has to be a tech development, not a given. -
RE: SBR in Alpha plus
If its too much for you definately stick to OOP. thats fun. As far as AA firing after bombers deliver payload? Makes SBRs too strong. They didnt Make it to target 100% of the time. Thats the rub. SBRs sometimes cost more than they are worth. A nation must have a ton of capital to absorb causilties of failed SBR raids. Leave it up to the dice.

RE: SBR in Alpha plus
Instead of making new units for escorts, just reduce cost of fighters to 6 ipcs across the board. range should not extended, must aquire long range aircraft tech for that. Keep attack and defense values the same for air combat. Reduce attack and defense values to attack 2, defend 2 , for land and naval attacks to reflect lower cost. A fighter should not really cost more than a tank and should really only show greater fire power is against aircraft. The idea that a fighter can sink a battleship or aircraft carrier is rediculous and this is the way to start fixing it. any suggestions?

RE: Technology is a bad strategic investment
OK, weapon. Does that make you feel better? :-P

RE: Technology is a bad strategic investment
heavy bombers combined with long range aircraft is still a very formable straitegy. Ive won many wars (games) this way.

RE: Wolves of the Sea
THANK YOU! At least one other person acknowledges this and YES i realize the Pacific ocean is bigger than the Atlantic you jackwagon! US transports should have to travel further and linger out in the Atlantic in the U-boat kill zone where US air power cant reach. Germany then would have a chance at slowing down US landings with relatively cheap.

RE: Targeted Tech?
Makes sense, i think Zenos World at war did this. It sucks when russia gets super subs!
