      @kpb66:

      After AAAs have fired before regular combat begins, are they available to the defender to be taken as casualties during attacker hits?

      That is, if the defending side has 4 infantry, 2 AAA, and 2 fighters and the attacker rolls 5 hits, can the defender opt to take 4 infantry and 1 AAA instead of 4 infantry and 1 fighter?

      This came up last night in a game I played and just want to be clear on the matter before the next one.

      Of course you can. Or take out 3 inf and 2 AAA to keep the defensive power for the next round of combat.

      There is no “chosen last” rule as it applies for transports.

      HTH  🙂

      (Note: I accidentally deleted my posting from the second position in this thread, so added it back just here.)

      They may also put in affect of the amount of water distance in a sea zone where subs are not around.

      I agree with u Wolf. If you don’t want to add Barons rule to game, I like the idea of 1 d6 roll and if sub rolls a 2 or less transport has to stop combat or non combat move.

      OOB, or out-of-the-box, is used as an adjective that’s paired with whatever thing is being talked about in a given context: OOB sculpts, OOB rules, OOB map board and so forth.  It basically refers to any component of an official A&A game in the form in which it’s found inside the game box, without modifications.  For example when it refers to sculpts and units, as my fellow sculpt enthusiast Wolfshanze notes, the term can be used to draw a distinction between the sculpts in the A&A box and the sculpts that can be purchased from third-part sources like HBG, or alternately between the unmodified sculpts in the box and the painted versions of the sculpts that are customized by model-painting hobbyists.
