If that last sentence is referring to control only then can China receive the economy from the land(Burma/Kwangtung) if India is captured.

Flying Tigers
Can the Chinese fighter land in Burma or Kwangtung? The rule states:
They can be moved only into territories that
have a Nationalist Chinese emblem. However, Kwangtung
and Burma are special cases. Although they are not Chinese
territories, Chinese forces can move into them. These are
the only non-Chinese territories that Chinese units can
occupy. China can even temporarily control them, but only
if it recaptures them from the Axis while India is under Axis
control. The last sentence of that rule seems to infer that China can only move into those territories if they are captured by the axis. That would mean there is no way the Fighter could land there because of a newly captured territory.

RE: War with the True Neutrals.
You could move the mech from Eqypt to Syria on round 1. Â but again all your going to do is add one to the unit count for Germany to destroy.
-
RE: War with the True Neutrals.
If your not playing “Angry Bird” then you could keep 1inf in Finland and Greece to be ready if they declare war on the neutrals. Also would be a good idea to have something near Spain but I did not include Spain because I assume its the reason they declared war on the neutrals.

RE: War with the True Neutrals.
They can’t attack Spain on turn 2. UK only has 2 transports and USA is not at war. Besides if they try to beat Germany to it then they have to declare war on the neutrals. That makes Sweden and Turkey free for Germany. When it happens on Turn 2 the best you can do is take Turkey with France if you didn’t move that inf out of Syria in Trans-Jordan. Other than that you cannot get to Turkey without a transport which rarely survives in the Med on round 1. Even if UK’s transport or France takes Turkey the troops just add 1 or 2 to the total. Next turn Germany still conquers Turkey but may take more losses.

RE: War with the True Neutrals.
Personally I am pondering… Germany could march towards Calcutta via this shortcut with an army that could be large enough to defeat India, or just barely not do so (in which case Japan of course will finish the job). This might give Japan the opportunity to spend just that much more IPCs on taking Hawaï instead of India so that Both Calcutta and Hawaï could be in axis hands turn 8.
Wishful thinking or a viable strategy, I have not put much thought in it yet, so it remains to be seen. This is exactly what happened in one of my games I had 8 tanks and 8 mech in Irac heading toward India. I haven’t finished that game yet but its promising that I will take India in the next 3 turns unless I roll poorly.

RE: War with the True Neutrals.
Now there are so many things that may change the above strategy but that’s part of the game. The above should be used as a template and modified appropriately for the game. The suggested attacks are all 100% and that’s what I suggest when attacking the 3 big neutrals.
Razor - Thanks so much for the history on Turkey. :)

RE: War with the True Neutrals.
knp - so far this strategy has yielded me only success but it is definitely a surprise. I think the failure arises when Germany tries to conquer Russia too soon. Germany has to prepare for the siege if not they will crumble.
So far this strategy(“Angry Bird” = Turkey going to war) has done more good than I expected. It is vital that you do not lose any planes. Its easy to do as long as you don’t go hitting naval units without subs. On Turn 3 You can hit Turkey with 3 tanks, 5-6 inf, 3 T-bombers, 2 S-bombers, 3 Fighters. You want to overkill it so you limit your casualties from multiple rounds of combat. You also need to understand this is not a rush Russia strategy. Russia is in no position to attack Germany when they are spread out. The other fear with this strategy is USA which can hit Spain and Gib. Again this isn’t that much of a threat. Just keep hitting with men and lots of planes. The options in the black sea seem endless. Between the oil lands and the ability to control Gib from the land it is well worth the sacrifice.
Angry Bird Strategy

RE: War with the True Neutrals.
Yes it is a risk Cmdr Jennifer. My bet is by the time it takes USA to ferry those troops off of South America the war will be over. Also you have 8 icps in Turkey, Sweden, Spain and Portugal. I know these will change ownership often but it is in increase. Then there is the oil or “money lands” for Italy and Germany and Saudi Arabia for 2 more. Definitely a challenging way to play the game but it almost always gives Italy a dramatic increase in economy.

Ghr2 - Of course, I did get lucky. Yea, Japan really had bad luck and was ignoring the US. I hope we can continue it this evening.

RE: How to save Italian fleet
Great idea for Germany to produce subs in the Med. Remember subs can move through Gibraltar without the need to control it.

RE: War with the True Neutrals.
Razor - Ah yes the Black Sea. What was I thinking? Thank you so much. :)
I was really surprised at the replies. I figured everyone would think I’m crazy. Â The two big reasons I developed this strategy was because of the inability to keep Gibraltar closed and to get that NO for Germany and Italy. Â As long as you can keep ships out of the Mediterranean you increase the longevity of Italy. Â If you don’t have a navy which eventually happens to Italy then your forced to allow a siege without any hope of closing Gibraltar. Â I usually have a stack of 10-20 units sitting in Southern for this exact purpose. Also a quick blitzing of German tanks and mechs as well. Â That way if Spain falls I can capture with Italy and then have Germany blitz through to take Gibraltar.
The last game I played I think you were watching ghr2. Â UK managed to take Turkey from Germany on Turn 3 but at such a cost losing 2 fighters. The next turn Italy takes Turkey back and Then Germany stacks with ground units and planes. Â This strategy also seems to spread out Russia as well as Germany. Â You don’t have that one big bulge of units marching toward the capital. Â Russia has to protect Caucasus and Stalingrad now which were mostly ignored before.
Its no fun giving up 4inf in Africa, 6inf middle east(Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan), and 8inf in South America(Chile, Argentina, Venezuela) as well as the Mongolians but it greatly aids Germany and Italy’s economy. Â It is risky and as I found out last night challenging to keep Turkey with an experienced player. Â What might be better is to have Germany declare war on the neutrals on turn 3 instead of turn 2 and take Spain and Turkey. Â Might just have to leave Sweden for later. Â This will totally catch your opponent off guard since your just doing normal house cleaning with Germany and Italy up until the declaration.
Thanks again for all your supporting comments. Â Please feel free to critic and add to the “Neutral Strategy” Â

War with the True Neutrals.
So far I have been having a blast playing this strategy. Its somewhat easy to counter but definitely throws the game in a different direction. On Germany’s second turn declare war on the neutrals. Attack Spain with the leftover force from France, Sweden and Greece. Round 3 you take Turkey and Portugal. Now this is the great part. On round 3 have Italy declare war on Russia and move that Navy into the Baltic sea and take Caucasus if it is not empty. If it is empty then leave for Germany and attack one of the other territories bordering the Baltic. On Germany’s turn take Stalingrad.

RE: How to save Italian fleet
Actually I like to have Italy take Southern France I1 and Normandy I2. Its so much easier for Italy to take on 1inf & 1art in each territory than 5 inf and 4 inf. Yugo(2) + Bulgaria(1) + Greece(2) = Southern France(3) & Normandy(2). Its so much easier and quicker for Germany to take on Yugo and Greece than Italy. The key to keeping Italy alive is to keep the door shut (Gibraltar). If I lose Italy’s navy in I1 I will declare war on the neutrals with Germany and on G2 take Spain, Sweden & Greece. I set myself up to take Turkey G3(5inf + 3tanks, + 2S.Bombers + 5Tbombers + 2 Fighters). Not being at war with Russia helps. They just have to watch as you poise to steal all that oil on G4. On I2 have that tank you took Southern with to take Gibraltar. Now the door is shut. Move the Navy to SZ 97 where all those German Fighters and T bombers are to protect you. Get ready to start transporting into SZ 100 and gut Russia. Russia will have so many choices it will spread them very thin and take their eye off the force heading to their capital. To play it safe if there is alot of air power in the middle east you can just sit in SZ 97 and transport inf and mech to Greece. If you violate neutrality you have to move fast and keep USA out until turn 4. You and Japan have to be on the same page. ;)

RE: The Mediterranean Sea
I understand and agree with you. I just think that you can get by without a bid. Its easy to build a complex in Egypt and protect it without attacking Tobruk and use that transport to take Persia on UK1.
-
RE: The Mediterranean Sea
You can accomplish the same thing without the bid though. The bid frees the transport so you can take Persia but as knp7765 posted you can do it without the bid. I honestly believe the bid system tips the favor greatly in the Allies favor. Maybe I have not played enough games yet , hehe

This is awesome, LOL! 5 Degrees, sounds like Ohio, hehe.

RE: The Mediterranean Sea
If your waiting for UK2 to attack the navy then you have one of these two problems:
1. Germany gets another shot at it before your turn.
2. If you went through the suez then all Italy has to do is take Trans-Jordan to close the canal.
