• Here is my thought: If I have two ships in a square/sector (maybe a carrier and destroyer) and a a couple of enemy planes come in for the attack on the carrier only, am I allowed to also use the destroyer’s anti-air against one set of the planes? The reason I ask is that is one of the big reasons they (DE’s) were around was for air defense for the capital ships. My guess is I am getting a little too involved with details and this would be a house rule or something. Anyone have any thoughts or comments?

  • Any unit with an air defense value may shoot at aircraft in its sector during the air defense phase.

Planes don’t declare their targets until the air attack phase so you don’t yet ‘know’ what the aircraft will be targeting.

  • Your destroyer can shoot in defence of the fleet

  • Excellent! I kept skimming through the rules and must have kept missing it.
