I just sold a bunch of first edition italian pieces with those tanks on ebay last week but i have a copy of anniversary ill be opening on xmas that i wont need several of those pieces for including all the tanks…i use the second edition italy sculpts for most of the pieces so if anyone may want those tanks or fighters, transports, some infantry destroyers subs and maybe bombers ill have those all to sell after the 25th…(no battleships or cruisers need those)i can ship usps first class in the same box and packing that HBG uses to ship. PM me if interested (i can ship usa only) .Have other nations pieces available

RE: Rule changes?
Any reason you can’t just insert the updated AAA rules? With cost adjustments I’m pretty sure there’s no real balancing issue.
Replacing all AAs with AAAs in the set up would likely affect the opening strategies. I figure if AH/LH had made this update the initial unit placement would be modified.
The people I play with prefer to play with official version of the rules and tend to shy away from house rules anyway.
Ya ive been posting about this as well. Got it as a gift so cant test out till xmas using the new AAA rules/ casulties and how much it really affects strategy/ gameplay at setup. but already have enough of the new AAA sculpts ready to go and plan on using the new rules leavin at $6 and also maybe sticking with the specific targeted bomber or fighter rule, but then goin with the one AAA still shooting at 3 total planes.

RE: Please Read Before Opening your Anniversary Box 2017!
i have heard back on my incident report already and was told some of the parts i need are on backorder and they wont ship anything till its all complete.(up to 8 weeks till any setup boxes or cards are available)my particular copy has damaged gameboard, rulebook and setup boxes even the punch out setup card sheet has severe dents in it like the entire box was crushed even though the cardboard ship box was fine and also the outside box itself was ok. so strange.they claim they will take care of the issue and they are very professional about it but i feel like if these parts wont become available then we will be out of luck.

RE: The Return of Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
i noticed ill be able to use my original foam trays from the 80’s edition
For Anniversary?
How on earth would you fit the over 600+ units from AA50 into the 5 foam trays for the 300 units in the 1980’s Classic edition… it barely fit them? What about Italy?
It would be nice if that could be done, but I just don’t see how that would work.
well it actually fits very nice for several editions theres room for all the peices even in global 1940 editions(i have two trays each with the lids and bottoms dedicated to germany and japan though thats the kicker cuase i have extra custom peices for them anyway ) i have ordered several foam trays off ebay through the years and painted them and i have used them for every edition i own and they fit snug inside the storage boxes from all editions and i even use them in the 1914 trays (the long dice storage one)so each country has its own using 8 of the full size dice storage boxes and the lid that came with 1914.so i bought 7 empty long 1914 storage boxes from HBG so each nation has there own covered box with foam tray and 1914 lid. so im excited to be using them in this editon as well. makes it look organized and nice to look at imo.

RE: The Return of Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
What info did WOTC require besides shipping address name and number and what not? Going to call today my game arrived im assuming with the same indents and damage to the storage boxes and possibly rulebook as this appears to be a common issue and was wondering if they asked for pictures as mine is a xmas present and its still in the packing box wherever the wife hid it.

RE: The Return of Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
The D. Jensen article on here shows the piece counts for the game thats how i ordered my “subbing” in pieces for what ill use. also ordered the nation specific AA’s as i want to play with the updated rules for those. I was actually hoping to hear some feedback on how this may/would affect the gameplay using the new AA gun rules. (as far as taking for casualties )also if it affects the battles much per the setup and if it should be the one AA shoots 3 planes or one AA shoots them all. getting game as xmas gift so cant check but was hoping someone can look in the setup boxes and see if the 2 dividers can come out or not. i have the 80’s classic edition foam trays painted for storing the units i was hoping to use.

RE: The Return of Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
Theres a how to play video on the wizards anniversary page showing off components of the game. the young lady in the video is really hyped lol. So my post point is theres a clip showing bombers in france doing a AA gun example that im curious about. were they italys color or japan? i was under the impression that italy would match that of the europe 2nd edition. but they look very different in color almost japan like.(at the 644 mark they do show the japan bombers and thats how they look in the earlier video in france) Does anyone have thoughts on this part of the video whos bombers they are and what color italy is? i bought some extra italy peices as a upgrade fill in asuming theyd be the same color as eur 2nd. thanks

RE: The Return of Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
Hello fellows any word on what color the german pieces will be? the picture on amazon looks like the black version. curious all around bout which sculpts will be in as id prolly want to use certain sculpts from other games. curious if anyone has used the new rule set for AA guns as far as using the updated AA sculpts and taking as casualties etc. while playing the original version. would this change gameplay too much or not at all better or worse? as this is the only version i dont have. thanks

RE: Premptive strike in contested territory?
just found the answer on page 23 in rulebook lol…i missed it when i was reading…i can land troops and either conduct combat or reinforce…and the defending artillery cannot make a preemptive strike…sweet!
-
RE: Premptive strike in contested territory?
im a bit confused then…i cant land troops to fight a battle if a territory is contested?thats what it sounds like ur saying…i thought if i land troops i have a choice of reinforcing OR attacking…isnt this correct?
-
Premptive strike in contested territory?
cant locate a definitive answer sorry, but in a contested territory(at start of turn) if a amphibous assault is taking place do the defending artillerys still get a pre-strike? i didnt think so…but just checking…thanks

RE: How does Infantry crossing sea with Transports
so ur telling me in the non combat phase a unit that can only move 1 space can be loaded on a transport and offloaded in the same turn to a friendly territory? WOW…thats true? so this is basically what 1914 considers as a Amph. reinforcement then…but untill 1914 came out they never used this term before…how come? how is it that the rules for all the editions were not clear on this…it just seems unfair that a inf. or artillery can get on and off in the noncombat phase…the rules make it seem like this was only possible during a amph assault…this is jawdropping lol
-
RE: How does Infantry crossing sea with Transports
so was it made clear here that these moves by infantry and artillery need to be done during the combat phase (amph assualt) in order for those two units to be able to get loaded and offloaded in same turn? cuz if its done during non combat phase then those two units DO take up there one movement to get on transport leaving them stuck at sea…unless there a tank of course…didnt see anyone explaining that to him sorry
