2026: Axis & Allies Global 1940:
We have attached some new pdf files to the first post at pg. 1.
These files are very useful during the entire game and should be represented at the sideline of the game board.
The newly attached files are:
One of our members has the game - I have seen it and shortly studied it.
It is very similar to Avalon Hills Third Reich which we played back in the 90’s.
We found inspiration from some of these rules and have adapted them into the Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion.
You cannot move by Strategic Rail Movement into (or through) a newly captured territory…
So the answer is: No…
You could make it more manageable by doing the same as we do: see below.
I’ll also attach the pdf files later.

Ahh, I see…
In order to make this work, you should play test it.
I suggest that you create a Minor Rulebook that includes all your ideas - and I also suggest that you play test your suggestions.
Your play test results will prove if your ideas truly works… and if they need any adjustments.
This will also make it more manageable for any Renegade employee that might want to follow up on your ideas.
It would be awesome to see your ideas come to life at Renegade.
Hi crockett, concerning the attack in sz 96 and the Scotland Fighter unit - is this part of your advice to Renegade ?
Seems like you answered your own question correctly :-)
Naval Mines operate with the same game mechanisms as Land Mines with a few exceptions.
We appreciate that you play with Gentlemanly Warfare.
We support that that the Soviet player should be allowed to purchase RAC Infantry in Late 1942.
We suggest that the Soviet player should receive 10 IPC - and use or save them - before the German player starts in Late 1942.
Important:
From the beginning of the Soviet players turn in Late 1941, the USSR receives 1 Free Tank unit in each round. See more information at pg. 13 in the rulebook.
Remember:
The Timetable should be available at the game table. This is a big help for each player.
Refer to the Timetable each time you start planning your next turn.
Great Game Report,
It seems that Germany is under pressure… with the Allied landings in Western Europe - and the Soviets in Romania…
We really look forward to the next Game Report
Captain
We were considering to come by and say hello…
We just found out, that we can fly from Copenhagen to Manchester (2 hours) - but then it takes 4-6 hours to get from Manchester to Derbyshire…
Since the event is held only for one day - and a Sunday, it would not be possible for us to get there - and get back on the same day.
…unfortunately…
We wish you a great Tournament.
Captain
Play testing has ended. The rules are now available at the Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion thread, pg. 1 (see Optional Rule No. 22).
The latest G40 Expansion units has been added at pg. 1 in this thread:
Self-propelled Anti Aircraft Artillery and Waffen-SS Self-propelled Anti Aircraft Artillery
These units are part of the G40 HRE Tournament Rules.
The Tournament Rules are carefully selected from the entire G40 HRE. Since a Tournament put more stress on players - even though players still have Fun & Challenge - we needed to reduce the number of Expansion Rules to make each game more managable.
I trust that your game will be fun & challenging on a massive scale with all Optional Rules.
We truly look forward to your Game Report.
This is the release of the Tournament Rules that is used during all Wiking-Con events etc.
Players can also decide on their own if they want to use the Tournament Rules during any game at any time - on TripleA - or on the Game Board FTF.
Note 1:
When you play with the Tournament Rules, the scoring points are registered as mentioned below.
We have attached the revised Timetable for Tournament Units & Rules as well as the Tournament Rules.
1. Timetable, Tournament.pdf
2. Tournament rules.pdf
Important:
Note 2:
Every game that is registered as a Tournament Game (meaning that the Tournament Rules are used) must have the scoring points registered like this:
This post has been updated 29th January 2026
Captain
Here below, we have attached the most recent Timetable which is the one that we use during Tournaments - like the Wiking-Con events etc.
So far, players must manually keep track of the extra Optional Rules that are not represented at the Timetable.
Note:
The Naval Commander rule is still not available, since play testing has not ended yet.
Our game experience shows that the Soviets can use the Air Fleet Commander with great success - especially when US and/or UK send their Lend-Lease Air Units to the Soviets.
Germany usually have at least 2 Luftflotte - operating on the Eastern Front and in the Western Europe sphere.
We don’t have any plans to revise the Strategy Guide Global 1940, since a revision is a major effort.
Instead we have added some additional strategies to this thread - so players can read through this thread to get the big picture.
Thanks for your comment.
Self-propelled Artillery can be upgraded to Waffen-SS Artillery in the same way as regular Artillery.
Note:
Waffen-SS Artillery can move 2 spaces. So it would be more economically sound for the German player to upgrade regular Artillery to Waffen-SS Artillery rather than upgrading Self-propelled Artillery.
