    • "This is World War One" Art Prints

      Hi all,

I know it isn’t often that anyone posts any war-related art they’ve made for sale (or if that’s even something that can happen on this forum) but I thought I’d let you know about a little something I made.

It’s a 24x30" silkscreened print that distills the First World War into 1000 words and 20 images written and illustrated by yours truly. Included in this history: 1914 Europe, Sarajevo, new methods of warfare, the British blockade, mobile warfare, immobile warfare, Zeppelins bombing London, Italy joining the war, the Verdun Memorial, adaptations, gas warfare, tanks, the German Navy, Revolutionary Moscow, the USA joining in, Bulgaria and Austria dropping out, the Spanish Flu, Berlin protests, 1918 Europe, and the death count.

If you’re interested in seeing close-ups, getting a few more details or buying a copy, you can find them right here:

Thanks for your time. And hopefully I’ll find some more time for A&A in the future–the new baby isn’t being kind to my gaming schedule. Fingers crossed that I can make it to Oshawa again this year…

If you’re interested in this kind of stuff, I’d highly recommend reading this:

Very detail heavy. Fascinating, well-researched. Pretty sure it goes into detail about the incident in the article, but it’s been a year or so since I read it.

      Yup. At least 50%.

And thanks for all the tips on our A&A Pacific 1940 match, Surprise Attack.

      YG,

I think I’d be game next year, and I really feel like this weekend was A&A College. New techniques were found. Can’t wait to try them out on my home city squad.

Oh, and about the “hiccups”? I didn’t see any myself–only saw a great many very polite people. Was there a vicious dice-fight in the bathroom or something?

…and that was a great weekend unlike any I’ve had before. Nice to meet you, too, Randy–you’re a good dude.

OK. Time for real life for a while. Laters.

In Oshawa at the Travelodge waiting for friends. Having a warmup game with Toronto pals tonight, debating between A&A Europe 1940 and Anniversary Edition. Also: which beer to start with?

Pretty excited. Meeting with two Toronto buds at the Travelodge Ottawa Whitby tomorrow afternoon, playing some A&A Europe 1940 Friday night there. Then I can’t wait to scope out a game on Saturday morning.

Also checking out Star Records (http://www.recordstoreday.com/Venue/5311) at some point. If you’re in to music, I’ve heard it’s the place.

    • RE: FMGC 2013 - Gaming Convention - GTA CANADA

Just booked a hotel and registered for the conference, meeting up with two Toronto pals there. Pretty stoked to do the full convention–last year I just poked my head in, as I was enroute from Toronto to Montreal that day.

If anyone from Montreal wants to ride-share, drop me a line via e-mail at raymond@fifteen.ca. I have an eight-seater van that’s currently just seating me and a Larry Harris autographed copy of AA50. I’ll be leaving Montreal early-ish on Friday the 13th, coming back late-ish on Sunday the 15th.

    • RE: Looking for players in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

If I still lived in Edmonton we’d be throwing dice 24/7. I moved away in 2010 and my old playing group fell to pieces–everyone moved or had 100000 babies.

We used to be able to fill a table no problem, and played up in a studio in the Ross Block on Whyte and 104th while staring down into the mess that was the Strat Hotel parking lot on a Saturday night.

Sorry to be no help at all. Good luck, though!
