    • RE: [Global 1940] Afghanistan

I’m not sure where you guys are playing online. Link?
I realize this is an old thread.
We’re playing at home out of the box.
We’re developing some interesting diplomatic neutrality rules. Short version: These nations can be invited by dice roll to join the axis or allies. We use three dice. We have a chart giving the number on the dice that must be obtained to entice the nation to join…each inviting nation (playing nation) has a different number for each neutral country. So for instance, Brazil is much more likely to join the Allies if the US asks them, than if the USSR does. We buy diplomatic rolls like tech roles. We also allow discounts for multiple tech or diplo rolls purchased at once.
We’re developing additional rules to deal with multiple situations. It’s fun. So far Germany convinced Spain to join the Axis. But tried and failed to get Argentina to join. We also are coming up with additional units to deploy. Spain had a significant air force and navy, and Argentina and Chile had some of the most impressive navies among neutrals, being two of the very few nations in the world with at least one battleship.

    • RE: looking for Europe or Pacific player

@alwaysaxis I just joined this forum. I don’t know if you are still interested in this game. My boys and I play both 1940’s (we have edition1 of Europe, and edition 2 of Pacific). We just got Europe (used) for Christmas and have played it through twice. One Allied win, one Axis win. I’m not sure if we’re ready for an online game yet, but maybe at some point we would be. We live in South Carolina.

    • RE: What are your tips for making custom axis and allies boards?

Old topic, but yeah. Is anyone selling custom boards? I would think it would be popular…
