      I prefer European battles too, just because I’m more unbiased there.  I need to get on ebay and build up my Japanese armies.  I haven’t even 200 points for them total.  My biggest ones are US and Germany, with about 500-600 points for each.  I also want to build up my Soviets;  I have enough for smaller scale fights, but I want to use it for my custom made maps too.

      Are there rules for using just one hero?  It makes sense to me.  If you just have one hero, your opponent can decide whether it’s worth it to focus on killing him.
      Obstacles being so cheap may actually make for the biggest change in playing the game.

      I am hoping they get a Marine hero, since the Marine infantrymen are actually a little weaker than I expected.

      NAMBLA = instant electric chair, as far as I’m concerned.

      If people are hating each other, just make a “post a pic of your cat” thread.  People who like to argue on the internet also seem to love cats and become best friends when they show pictures of them.

    • RE: Any good Civil War games?

      I’ve been wanting to get the Sid Meier games.
      As for boards, Battle Cry looks a lot like Memoir '44, which I have not played.  How is that for quick games that don’t require a history lesson or an explanation of Wargames to the person I want to play against?

    • RE: King of the WW2 FPS's

      I think you can show the conflict from both sides without promoting any ideology.  I don’t think CoD was praising Stalin when it had the Soviet Commander saying “Comrade Stalin would be proud of you, as I am proud of you!” because no one likes Stalin.  It’s just showing history as it happened.  The same thing could apply to German units who fought in the army of a tyrant but fought for many reasons unrelated to his ambition, just like every volunteer army in history.

      @GrimJesta:

      @Der:

      At the beginning of your move phase you may replace any number of your MG42s with Sandbagged MG Teams, and vice versa.

      That’s along the same thinking I’ve been doing.

      -=Grim=-

      I think a good idea would to have a ‘dug in’ marker for any units.  One Action Phase could be used to dig in, but a Movement OR Action phase could be used to ‘saddle up.’

    • Making maps and rules for them

      I bought a large, blank hex map for use with A&A minis and I am going to make some of my own hexes to portray different situations.  Urban areas will be the ones for biggest change.  Instead of having urban areas that act as streets and buildings, I was going to make these seperate and have rules for entering cover in the “building” hexes.  The building hexes will have a higher level of cover and can be destroyed with a certain level of attack from a cannon.  The building hexes will have a destroyed one of the same on the reverse side, which reduce cover to the level of forests.  I will probably use the same destruction rule for bridges.
      I may also make tower hexes for cities as well, which give infantry an increased medium and far range, while negating any close combat benefits.  Any units in the tower when destroyed will also be destroyed immediately.  Towers will not enjoy the benefits of line-of-sight for obvious reasons.
      To denote that a unit has entered the building I will probably have him on side of the hex that will be more shaded.

      Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated.

    • RE: French Army (formerly: Hi everyone)

      The French need some good units, but the Chinese really need them.  French Riflemen are good if you tend to put your strength in Urban areas though.
      What would be interesting is if they had Free French partisans the same way the SU gets communist partisans.

    • RE: Leaders Under Fire

      If a unit ignores all Disrupt status, do you guys even put it face up on there or just take it away at the casualty phase?
