another mistake I made was to “collect” one inf from each island for example one inf from philipines move first step to borneo, load second inf and move second step to Australia to invade… I see that is also forbidden by the quote that p. brought. so thanks for involving him.
or perhaps “collecting” is permitted? to “collect” one inf from each island for example one inf from philipines move first step to borneo, load second inf and move second step to Australia to invade?
but not to unload two infantry in two places one inf in philipines and second in the adjacent sea zone for example borneo. -

yea so that is called “bridging”. Once you load and then unload the trprt is done. So it doesn’t have to move, although obviously it can, but loading and unloading dictate the number of dudes it can transport in 1 turn.
I’m sure someone else will give a more detailed answer, but that’s basically how it works. : )"
thank you b. for clarifying that about unloading. I had imagined that if it could move two sea zones then I could make more than one trip each with capacity but that would be against the rules. of capacity. and as p. added once unloaded ends, so cant move to adjacent sea zones.

RE: All the Russian openings: For Begginers
@barnee that is when a transport moves two zea zones. please notice japan and Manchuria are in same sea zone perhaps transport can bring two tanks like two sea zones, or more?

RE: All the Russian openings: For Begginers
@Black_Elk
I enjoyd reading this. on the topic of japan invading India I ask: hi l. I enjoyed your story. tell me when you play, how do you “count” transport moves from japan to Manchuria? for example if a transport boat wants to bring foot soldiers or tanks how many can it carry? I debated with another player. I felt two trips so one tank and two infantry but he wanted to bring more claiming the same sea zone is infinite trips what do you do? -
RE: Classic - some reflections
@DoManMacgee both maps of date 12 unjustly keep japan tanks away from Moscow or place Moscow “east” of true location and east of caspian sea, this nt only aids Moscow buut unjustly aiding Moscow, at game start, when should be three steps from east coast to Baltic not more and two steps in same turn to Moscow from pacific coast as in photos of original post. as fans we can influence the production of a real game.
however I doubt allies would ever win if ipc were accurate so at least fix the map. thanks. -
RE: Classic - some reflections
@cds to cds date 13 about fun. how can it be fun if map unjustly helps one side so I explain why it is unjust. if you know a map that fixes these issues please tell me or as fans we can influence the game producers. that is my point.

RE: Classic - some reflections
@cds that does not change the fact as measured in my original post in photos of length calculation. I wish I could fix world map too but at least the game with “tank movement” we fans can fix.

RE: Classic - some reflections
@DoManMacgee althoe I thank you for “12 march” detaild reply again your recommendations add regions.
similarly the maps in your later reply unjustly keep japan tanks away from Moscow or place Moscow “east” of true location unjustly aiding Moscow, at game start, when should be three steps from eat coast to Baltic not more and two steps in same turn to Moscow from pacific coast as in photos.
you mentioned ipc so I will specify: do you know any version that gives the allies accurate ipc as described below production potential? I mean considering that eastern soviet is bare icy land undeveloped the two larger [larger than classic] regions each barely worth one ipc. total for soviet : 10 for Moscow like berlin plus 3 plus one plus one should total 15 [not 24 in classic]. unless add china potential to soviet 2 and one for west china then 18 for soviet [not for u.s. as classic kuz china too far to truly aid America building warships] or better yet 15 for soviet as above but china potential for India so brit ipc total 10 for London same as berlin plus 3+1 Canada [no complaint] plus 3 regions Australia-size in Africa not including French west Africa which is named “French” hence Nazi ipc, same as Libya, and Madagascar but Madagascar and new Zealand undeveloped and small each zero ipc, plus Jordan river region and Persia each one [and correctly two steps for length] plus 3 India and 2 Australia total 24 [not 30 as classic] and if add china ipc to India then 27.
similarly brazil was nutral until 1945 so u.s should have 10 same as berlin plus 8 plus 2 Alaska total 20 [not 36 in classic] while Solomon like Hawaii both zero ipc. kuz brazil and mexico nutral and china far so its ipc for India. thanks.
and good title for our dialog “classic reflections.” -

@DoManMacgee
my reply is near your suggestion "@DoManMacgee said in Classic - some reflections:@hirohito22 If you want a smaller Axis and Allies game go play “Axis and Allies: 1941” +h: he point is not “smaller” but that soviet should have less regions based on the regions of India Persia etc. and hence less production potential but see below.
d: "You specifically complained about the maps not being realistic, so I gave you examples of games that were more to-scale. I figured since you took the time to write a 2000+ word post essay on why the map is not realistic, you’d appreciate a map that is, you know, more realistic
h: correct… d: “Side note, the USSR is huge in real life. The Nazis lost the war because (among other things) their Blitzkrieg tactics weren’t as effective when invading a huge landmass like Russia. Russia being comprised of many territories in game is a reflection of that reality.”
h: I wish you noticed that those two statements you just wrote self conflict.
the second one “many regions” is only relavant in the EAST of soviet in the 1980 version based on situation in 1942 [rulebook]. which would not delay Nazi only delay japan and since less length than India and Persia should be accessible to japan in the game. those regions are snowy ice undeveloped and empty and should be barely provide one production even when enlarged.
your first statement is about the Nazi east front that is soviet west. this also has a problem kuz in 1942 the Nazis were near Moscow and Moscow was not north WEST from caucus mountains but north of east edj of black sea. chosing “spring 1942” caused other problems that I did not yet complain about. I did not complain about the five infantry west of Moscow. only the production potential and regions east from Moscow. althoe the location of Moscow should also be fixd and perhaps was fixd in a later game map. so if you know which game map please tell me. thanks. -
RE: Classic - some reflections
@cds those games do not make soviet less land zones…

@cds sounds good. wadya think of my suggestions? added after your post.

Classic - some reflections
hi my username is Hirohito22. it is important to me to fix several unjust preparations in the game for purpose of improving it. as below.
I enjoyed the challenge and detailed troop types, of the game axis and allies back in the 1980’s however as an adult I found a severe error that only the fans are able to fix.
as you know the game-map is drawn so that a tank can travel from the coast named French indo-china for example Hanoi, to cairo named aes, in four steps in two moves. accepting this is the fans have… the distance is 4800 miles in attached picture then that reveals a severe flaw in the game map which affects the balance of power unjustly because as you know the globe has greater length near the imaginary equator line in the fat part of the sphere while in the north part of the sphere the same tank should be able to move from the coast of east s.u. [magadan] to saint Petersburg in three steps… because the length is less in the north of the sphere and as in photo attached. instead the game demands the jap invader many moves, even to get to Moscow which unjustly defends Moscow which should be accessible since the length is less.
I cant request the game builder to fix it, because I am ony one and don’t know the company but you fans have more influence to make the game justly prepared that soviet union has less land regions zones, and obviously they are snowy empty undeveloped so each large area barely with one unit of potential for building tanks and boats… so less zones worth less “production units” even if Moscow is ten pu same as germany, the total space and pu should be less.
this pattern is repeated in Africa when we consider the area of Australia and Canada are one zone and 2 respectively, as you accept [in contrast to game map risk] yet the continent of the nile river, called africa, gives the british unjustly many territories and many pu for undeveloped sandy desert or undeveloped jungles. truly the area of Africa should be divided on the game map same as Canada and Australia areas because the current map unjustly gives the brits unfair advantage defending from the start of the game, essentially the same issue as in s.u. but justly should have less p.u. and less zones even if London has ten pu same as germany. the total should be different. the way the game is now gives the allies several advantages from the start of the game which are not accurate.
a smaller problem that also must be fixed is that the game mimics the time 1942 yet Madagascar and other places were not yet british at that time until later.
please pressure the makers of the game to make the map more accurate as above and in picture.
similarly the same problem unjustly defends Australia by separating many sea zones when in fact the same two steps for a warship from the coast of west u.s. through Hawaii to wake island should similarly allow japs from philipines or even east china coast to send ships with soldiers to Australia in two steps same turn invading the bay in north east Australia.
so all this is important to fix.
lets see if the allies ever win when the globe is drawn accurately? also brazil and others were nutral until 1945 so should not aid u.s.in production units in a game mimicking the situation of 1942. oh and japs had more battleships than brits so unjust that each jap and brit start with two battleship markers. if brit have two for few then jap should have four markers for many more battleships in 1942… so instead keep two markers for many jap battleships while zero markers for brits for few battleships of brits no marker nor submarines in sea called mediteranean because too few to deserve a marker same as japs only two markers for many battleships.
thanks from a Hirohito 22
see for yourself.
