      jup had an epic CP win after 20 rounds or so( was with tha allies and must say we were quite surprised :p after about 5 allied wins in a row) but it got our group thinking that the CP had twrown the towel in to soon

      russian revolution a turn 9-10, superb job of playing a cat and mouse game on the western front and a decent naval stratagy all contributed to the allied defeat, also for some reason johny turk seemed to be a juggernaut after a few round of decent play despite the fact that britain was hurling considerable amount of ipc’s towards it. so yeah i really don’t think the CP are in such a bad way (we play OOB with german bid of 3 INF in berlin)

      helllo, playing a game this weekend and a question arose in my mind. can a nation belonging to your side activate a minor neutral power. for example france which goes to albania to activate it for the italians is this legal? sorry if this has been asked but can’t seem to find a thread or find it in the rules cheers and happy hollidays :p

      how about this, take out the cruiser and transport of canada and consolidate tze german fleet in seazone 4 with a 2 sub build. � have found that if you can lure the british fleet away from its mines and have them engage you in open sea it is a nasty fight for the brits ( 2 germans subs, 2 cruisers and battleship against 2 brittish cruisers and battleship). and if they dont take the bait you are in � perfect position to hit the French or british ships who are gunning for the 2 german subs (hopefully :p) of the coast of canada. either way you force the allies to help out in the atlantic wich means less ships in the med. to help out italy wich means that Austria (who should build at least a few subs) can whitle away the allies there, and less men against johny turk :p

      well my group loves it way better than global for some reason (less to worry about maybe :p) and an email to support got me the extra pieces i needed for free and our group has found that a bid of 3 inf. in berlin helps the central powers cause tremendously so yeah it’s not hat bad cheers

      my free playing pieces have arrived 2 battleships, 3 cuisers, 3 tansports, 2 subs, 5 guns, 6 infantry, 2 planes , 2 tanks for each power! ; 38 red chips ,8 dark red chips , 35 blue chips , 7 dark blue chips where also in the package , this should be enough to play the game as it should be and we can finaly lay all this bickering to rest and start coming up with epic statagems :p cheers

      your solution is correct after 50+ games this has seldom failed me, the 1st round carrier purchase is needed if you want to stand a chance in  the med cheers

      I have tried to initiate USW but the French and British navy hunt down the subs before the British 1st collect income phase.  I agree that bring US in early is not a bad thing.  G40 US gets bonus income when it comes in, 1914 it doesn’t.
      I’ve tried several times. but if the French don’t get the subs, the Brits will.
      My new G1 naval is consolidate the fleet in SZ 4 and try to draw the Brits out from their mines.

      this might work, and if the allies do not hit it and coupled with a naval purchase every round  and try to keep stern control over seazone 4, you can then go for the USW seazones and harras the allies from there  and if they try to stop the naval reinforcements they have to content with mines and you can smack the allied fleet in home waters sounds not that bad actually

      hello to all who are interested just send an e-mail to customer service(check the back of the manual) and they will send you additional pieces, mine are on their way :p only 15 to 20 more days to go :D , by the way if any of you received a box with an annoyingly warped board just complain and they will throw in an extra board, talk about service, cheers :p

      had my ass kicked by my mate yesterday, he was the CP and had absolutely no problems at all. he simply was patient did not get lost in useles battles, made retreats when needed and bloody captured india despite the fact that I had spent 90 points in the course of 3 rounds there!!! better dice on his part sure but I really do not think the game is as lobsided to the allies as one might think also granted it was my first allied command as well so slight mistakes were made on my part but nothing disastrous. so I really think you can win as the cp but you’re in it for the looooooooooooooooooong run and need jedi-like patience :p

      hello, you can download a map for anniversary edition wich has italy as a playable power and get units from field marshal games, there should be a link to their site on this forum. Or if your willing to pay the steep price on ebay for  it you could buy A&a anniversary or buy europe 1940 :p cheers

      yes I have thought about a UK invasion actually but I fear france and Russia will become monsters if you do, but if you can figure out the logistics of using your transport fleet to send units alternating between the west and the east and play your cards right it might work (was going to try this on sunday but our groups best mind will be britain so I will wait untill I can pull it of against someone with less experience :evil:).

      how about this, consolidate the GER fleet in sea zone 10 exept the 2 atlantic subs wich go after the canuck cruiser and trannie build 2 transports and a BB and now you can start schucking germans from berlin right to holland speeding up the german reinforcement considerably. I have found that the G1 assault on the UK fleet is to the detriment of the ottomans because if your first turn naval battle is to succesful the turks pay for it very dearly because you force the brits to buy all out with india, maybe starting a naval race with britain might just bleed enough IPc to give the turks some much needed breathing space?  :|

      thinking of implementing this in my next game (OOB rules) since the allies need to react to this, it just might be enough to scatter the allied fleets in their attempt to hunt them down and to allow cruisers (positioned in sea zone 5 :p) to come in and harrass the allied navy’s forcing them to spend on ships especially uk which means less BEF in france and less to throw at the ottomans. I know the allies can block you but I believe you need to contest the sea as Germany and keep the allies busy in the west untill tanks come ( the buggers are quite handy after all! ;p) and I also believe that the american can really get hurt by this since they only have 20 IPC’s and this again will force a US ship buy wich means less men ;D.

      it might be to stop the switserland attack but I have found that the neutrals are quite handy for Germany to keep its income nice and steady, france also benifits and holland and Greece make nice protection zones for some of  the CP’s crownjewels like ruhr and constaninople.  I like the neutral rules as is actualy and frankly I think the game is quite in balance (but hey me and my friends arent the pro’s like some of you guys or gals :p)

      thanks another question comes to mind in the revised edition france has a fighter in Uk can it scramble in defense when Germany attacks the royal navy or is it limited to the seazone containing the  French cruiser
