RE: Field Marshal Games - Notice to our Friends and Customers
So, any chance for an update on the state of FMG? I’m sure the task of reestablishing a strong foundation underneath your feet is difficult in the business world, but I’m really pulling for you guys.
Thanks for checking in on us!
We have made more PERSONAL investments to get COMBAT DICE back in stock. This has been a solid product for us so it will be well worth it. Sales of COMBAT DICE will allow us to move forward with other projects and get back in the black.
We are looking at options with private investors and possibly even Kickstarter to excellerate this recovery. Getting the GERMANY units completed will be our first product launch after recovery.
Things are SLOW, but we are still here licking our wounds….
Jeremy
do you have combat dice in stock?

RE: CSI shipping
You didn’t get any light brown Russians, by any chance?
No, mine have all the same dark brown colour…
Just finished my first game after 4 days. The ending leaves a lot of questions and I´m sure I made some errors but it was so much fun even to play it solitaire…
My results- Once the americans entered the war it was only a matter of time when the allies would cross the rhine.
- I pushed too late for Russian Revolution (guess it was turn 5-6)
- OE did made a furios performance (They had much luck with the dices I guess)
- Italy was pain in the ass for Austria (Next time I play, they`ll be CP for sure)
- I love air supremacy
Its the best boardgame I ever played
I only wish that France Belgium an Germany had bigger tts…which game are you talking about?

RE: Countering KJF as Japan in 1942SE
If your opponet goes 100% kill Japan first, then there is nothing you can do as Japan. The game for the axis will then be won as Germany. Japan needs to do 2 things.
One is buy a ton of navy. Japans first turn is the most important for her. UK killed your BB/Carrier off indonesia then you will be needing to buy sea units. You will have 2 transports, and I’d advise to build only sea/air units the first turn with Japan. Mainly air since US can aways see this and just not go after Japan, and then you are stuck with a bunch of worthless subs or destroyers. Every turn after the first turn if US is putting 100% of her money into Navy, then Japan needs to invest all of her money minus 2-4 infantry or so into navy as well. The longer you can stall the US from taking one of the islands and building an IC there, the better.
The scond thing Japan needs to do is to take as much territory as she can. Take all of russia’s northern territory, and have a couple units that can trade kazachstan back and forth with russia, while the majority of your forces should be in the south keeping UK India at bay. You won’t ever be able to take out UK India if the allies do a true KJF strat and UK plays it correctly, without compromising the pacific to US’s navy too soon. Say you have 4 transports. 3 of these taking units from japan to the mainland, and 1 picking up units from your islands then that meant you spent 14 into transports and 6-12 more IPC’s into ground untis a turn. US should have way more sea units than you and just walk all over the pacific. You also have to remember that UK is buying 2 fighters a turn, and by UK turn 4 should have 6-8 fighters and a bomber that are UK controlled that can hit your ships if they are off french indo china.
Japan should be up 8 IPC’s by the end of their second turn, and making as much as the US. By turn 3 they can be up even more and now they are out producing the US
you don’t like the complex on mainland idea?

RE: NEW- Official Global 1942 version of the game- by Larry Harris
Set it up last night. I agree Germany a little understrengthed on the Eastern front. Otherwise I like it. USA has Solomons and a fight brewing in the South Pacific. Like it.
where is the setup?

RE: Global 2nd edition Q+A ( AAG40.2)
@Cmdr:
I believe that somewhere in the new rulebook it said that once you declared your combat moves and your opponent declared his scrambling fighters you could not then change your attacks. is this correct?
I do not have the page number to site you right now (do not hve the book here with me atm) but yes, once you have finished your combat moves you may not alter them (legally.) Since scrambling occurs after your combat move, but before conduct combat, you are stuck with what you moved and where you moved it.
I thought that was the correct order.
-
RE: Scramble vs. Carrier question
can you change your attack after your opponent declares his intent to scramble? I don’t think so, but am not sure.
No. Scrambling is declared after combat moves are completed. that’s what I thought.

RE: Global 2nd edition Q+A ( AAG40.2)
or is it in the rulebook?
You can not attack a territory containing a power you are not at war with.

RE: AAG40 FAQ
China cannot scramble its fighter.
Well, that clears that one up. I guess since they can’t go into sea zones they can’t scramble.
-
RE: AAG40 FAQ
can the chinese fighter attack Japanese ships off the coast?
No. The Chinese fighter is not permitted to move outside of territories that are originally chinese plus burma/kwangtung. Seazones are included in that restriction, so the chinese fighter cannot enter any seazone.
Could the chinese fighter in a legal coastal territory scramble against an amphib if the territory it was in had an airbase? I’m not sure how scrambling and moving are related. The piece has technically moved into the sea zone, but it hasn’t used any movement points to do so.
No, China cannot use bases.
Just a few posts up Krieghund says chinese can use bases. -
