    • RE: Modular G40 Map Overlays

@Titus The image already looks pretty good, but if you want to show the full quality of an image, There’s only a few options that I know of.

You could make a zoomed in shot. If your goal is to simply show a high-quality area on your map instead of the full thing, simply take a screenshot of that zoomed in shot and upload it the way you usually do.

You may be able to divide your file through a sectioner. You can upload your file onto a site such as PineTool or ImageSplitter and then divide your map into different parts. Then, you can download & then upload multiple crops of that image together in one post.

If you want to show the entire map in its high quality though, you’re likely going to need to upload your map through a 3rd-party file uploader. Some options include Zappfiles, Mediafire, and Dropbox. You can then link your exported image in your post.

If there’s a better method out there, please let me know, But these are probably the easiest options.

      Also, good looking map!

    • RE: [AA50/Anniversary] Modular Map Overlays - Splitting Australia, the Balkans, and Sea Zones; adding Cairo, Malaya, Singapore, Rio, Cape Town, Recruitment Centers and tons more!

@vodot Well, I look forward to seeing your solution to those problems. Perhaps you could make a Google Doc/Sheet table where you outline the changes to the setup depending on what division(s) you add? Just a suggestion, as having custom setup images for each combination would be an unnecessary amount of work.

(Also, I hit my daily upvote limit from your posts lol.)

@vodot They probably did, as on my physical copy of Europe 1940 Second Edition it has British Canada. If that’s already fixed on your map, then it isn’t an issue.

@vodot On the Pacific 40 board, Western Canada is marked with a British Roundel instead of a Canadian Roundel like Ontario and Quebec.

I’m glad you liked my ideas!

    • RE: Axis & Allies: Air War

@mhal21 Sounds like a cool concept. You could probably go all out with the plane types (biplanes, jet planes, dive bombers, etc.). If you want to make that game, then go for it!

    • RE: Modular G40 Map Overlays

@vodot Wow! I don’t have many suggestions, but here’s the ideas I thought of:

      • Sierra Leone under British Control instead of Neutral
      • Repurpose one IPC from Queensland and give it to New Guinea, highlighting its importance during the Pacific campaign.
      • Represent Borneo as Dutch (perhaps you could split British Sarawak into its own territory.
      • Represent Western Canada as Canadian.
      • Add Sakhalin to Soviet Russia
      • Create a land bridge between Sicily and Southern Italy.
      • Pro Axis Iran
      • Make Mexico a Pro-Allied Neutral.
      • Make Argentina a Pro-Axis Neutral.

G40 is already a really complex game, so not too many more divisions should be made. A lot of your additions sound good though!

      @vodot YYEEAAHH!!

I’m definitely giving them an Infantry unit and a Submarine off the coast. You did this pretty fast too!

Speaking of setups, do you have any starting setup for these map overlays, or do we just have them for visual flair? Both are fine, and sorry if you already addressed this.

      Good work as always!

@vodot If we’re just spitballing changes to the map, perhaps we can finally have French Madagascar aligned to the correct nation - Germany.

Operation Ironclad and Battles of Madagascar only began in the summer of 1942, before this they were part of Vichy France. I am kinda surprised only War Room is the only Larry Harris game to get this correct.

By the way, what you are doing is really impressive! Good work!

@JHendrix112 I third Mr. Bowser on that. While I never got to see Der Kuenstler’s content, I would look forward to see what he made in the past! I watch new & old content regarding Axis and Allies all of the time, so it would be nice to see what he brought to the table all those years ago. Hopefully he’ll upload his content again by using Bowser’s email!

    • RE: Armistice: Yay or Nay?

@Screamer I already did to an extent, but to answer it directly:

Even if Russia used its large Moscovian force to liberate Ukraine, it could probably seal it faster then if they just stood in Moscow. First off, forces in Galicia and later Tatarstan could recontest the territory, and the attack would either be halted or expelled by the next turn. If the Russians sent a large amount of units to Ukraine, German forces in Belarus would wreck the now sparse capital territory (the russians wouldn’t be able to continuously produce, as their capital is contested). The Central Powers just have too much of a lead on units for the attack to switch the tides of the war unless a literal miracle happens.

Not to mention, there are too many Austrian units in Tatarstan to encircle without that encirclement immediately breaking on the Austrian turn. There are not nearly enough Entente units to strongly defend against 30 Infantry, 18 Artillery, and 2 Planes (from what I can see) in every surrounding territory.

    • RE: Armistice: Yay or Nay?

@Screamer If you mean the entire Entente surrendering, it all really depends on the state of the rest of the board. From what I can see, this game looks won for the Central Powers, as the stack in Belgium looks just big enough to overwhelm France. The Ottomans haven’t fallen yet according to Romania, as the Ottomans really just need a couple territories to stay a viable threat. British reinforcements really can’t save Russia at this point, as Austro-Hungarian forces are just too powerful to stop in Tatarstan. While I can’t see the Southern Front, I doubt Italy is wiping the floor with Austria.

Despite the Entente likely lasting several more turns after this one, the end result wouldn’t pan out to the Entente’s advantage. Even without the Armistice, this would almost certainly be a Central Powers Victory.

      Yay

    • RE: New Support Tier?

@djensen You could also possibly make support tiers based ons playable A&A nations that could display as country tags. For example, here is a mockup of a French country tag.
      Screenshot 2025-12-10 12.png

Just a neat idea if you’re considering to add more tiers. You could also do the same thing with game pieces if you wanted to.

@Elrood Very true, I wouldn’t put it past Winnie’s China to raid sites to keep certain events out of their narrative, even if the method is extremely flawed and invasive.

    • RE: Slow Login

@Elrood Not only that, it’s always the Kuomintang instead of the CCP. The CCP has never been in Axis & Allies before, and while there are good reasons for this, Chinese Bots consider this unforgivable.

    • RE: Custom Battle Board AA50

@Titus Adding outlines definitely add clarity from an otherwise dark battle board. Should look great when you’re finished!

Though, the dark red outline to the black text over a bright tan background looks a bit weird. Maybe just a slight darkening of the tan and a lighting of the red outline would do the trick?

    • RE: Custom IPC/NO Charts

@Titus Looks great! I have a quick question though, I noticed one of Italy’s national objectives is to control Morocco, Algeria, and Libya. Morocco and Algeria are German cores and both Italy + Germany are on the same faction. Is it simply unit control or something else? Very nice work though!
