A Japanese player should NEVER be surprised by a turn 3 unprovoked attack. There is little deterrent for the Allies by then. You guys are probably in your first few games - fun times!

Yes, the second. Mechanized infantry can move through friendly territories all on their own.

I did a couple solo games when I first got AA50 it seemed to help. Its kind weird when you set up a strat then change it just to mess your self up.
