Buying additional units?

Well with Germany, I wold go with Subs.
For USA/UK probably a destroyer or battleship.
But really, this all depends on what’s on the board. If there’s a of air power on the other side, then chances are I won’t build subs. If I already have a small navy (say a convoy of transports), I would probably go with a BB. And if I know the other side is using subs, then I probably buy destroyers. It all depends on how you look at it.

I think double units would give Germany a slight advantage in the beginning, as doubled tanks would give them a probability advantage against Russian infantry.

The info given about the fleet only apply to AAR, not Europe. Subs are immune to AF without a destroyer present. With the presence of destroyers, subs lose first strike, nothing else.

I never bother to calculate odds during a game, I like to keep my game smooth and the rounds fairly quick. I’m not sure about the statistics, but it seems to me that when I buy about even stacks of infantry and artillery (any extra cash going towards infantry) about every other round, creating hard hitting forces that outnumber the russians defenders. On the even round I like to build 5 or 6 tanks with infantry to catch up to the infantry and artillery from the previous turn. This provides me with a very tough offensive force with plenty of defensive power for holding territories. I don’t know if this stands up to more advanced strats, but it seems to work well for me, if I make the right opening moves; but then again, everything depends on the opening moves.

I finaly went back to the store. They offered to exchange the box but first they opened the new one to check if it was ok.
That one was also missing pieces. They opened an other one, same thing. I guess all the ones they had were like that.

They offered to reimburse me but I asked if it would be ok if I kept the pieces from 2 box and they agreed !  😄

However, if you start with the territory, ex. Leningrad, Archangel? for the Russian, those territories can build unlimited units for Russia.

also to note, if you attack a territory and win, u may NOT move there on non-combat. remember, all combat, non-combat, unit development, and the rest occur at the same time. so u cant land a plane in a place where there is a battle taking place.

for some reason i thought this was only true for aircraft (i.e. runways take a turn to build . . . ).
