• Hey I’m not a very experienced player but I was wondering if I could get help on what Japan should do (I’m the Japanese player) as we are going into round three.

Some suggestions and principles to go with them so you can apply in later turns.

Consolidate your focus - while it is emotionally fun to send out multiple task forces in various directions on daring raids to disrupt the enemy, your ability to sustain an assualt and overcome the enemy over many turns is limited. It apears you have 6 to 7 areas of focus (invading Russia, invading Austrailia, invading/defending southeast Asia, defending Japan seazone, etc.) It’s best to pick a critcial few objectives, and organize your deployment of forces (navy/air, logistics/transports, unit purchases, and combat) to achieve these objectives. This is what will lead you to purchase based on what you want to do 3 or 4 turns in advance.

Consolidate your fleet - this will enable you to strike back at US naval presence, inflicting maximum damage while minimizing losses (as you will use less rounds of combat to resolve, and less over hits from enemy.) Right now all of your ships are so spread out they cannot support one another in an attack. While the US is also spread out, they are somewhat better positioned to mutually support an attack within one space from any group of ships.

Infantry, infantry, infantry. You have almost no infantry on the mainland. It will be impossible to take and hold objectives with out a steady flow of infantry.

Hope this helps. To be honest, it will take a solid 1-2 turns to get some of these suggestions implemented, and don’t be surpirsed if you have to relinquish some territory to regroup and refocus.

  • @SeaYa Thank you this advice will be very helpful.
