We keep the same play order as the rules say, with the exception of: Some times we roll to see what power starts first. This makes the game interesting and your strageys have a bit of a change up
Try it some time AA fans……It can be really fun and challenging

A new Tech available MOAB
We have a new Tech for AA 1942 The USAF has a new MOAB ( mother of all bombs ) It is a 21,000 pound MOAB whish is replacing the 15,000 pound ( Daisy cutter ) which was used in Iraq and afghanistan. I feel sorry for any that gets hit by this. But remember WAR IS UGLY
This can be a great asset to any world power that gets its hands on this baby. this is truely a game ender
I have included a pic of the MOAB
Good luck all

RE: Alternate Gameplay
Here is what we do from time to time
Add up all the starting units value for start up
USA 236
Japan 255
Germany 321
USSR 168
UK 226At start up; You can pick / build what ever units you want per territory as follows
You can double what ever the value of your territory is piece wise
( example ) If india is worth 3……you can put 6 units there for build up / set up
Capital cities are unlimited
You can put IC in any territory you want… but it does counts as a unit and you can only produce what the IPC value is per turn for new units
we roll the dice after set up to determine which power starts first
We also roll a dice each for starting tech after order is estabilished
this is a fun way to play every once in a whileGood luck

RE: AA 1942 IPC Tracking
Hi wmman09, that is a good idea. but if you dont mind, ill tell you how we do it, and works very well. not to far off from what you do
First off, we use the marker for that power to identify where they are at IPC wise ( this marker moves up & down as territorys are captured )
We use another marker with an x drawen on it. this marker represents how much money / IPCs that power has to spend on its next turn
( example; USA spent 40 IPCs on there last turn USA has 2 IPCs left. marker with an x on it goes on the 2 spot on the board. USA ends it turn at 42 plus 2 not spent marker moves up to 44 )
this way pieces dont fall or get knocked down during play and there are no conflicts
This works well for us when we play you always know where you and your opponets are territory wise and money wiseHope this helps

RE: Our favorite game quotes
My friend was Axis and myself the Allies. I had just taken Germany with Uk and USA while he was trying to invade russia. oh I should mention he was playing the game and watching TV at the same time. he started building up japan with transports armed with tanks infantry and artillery, 6 loaded transports sitting in on the coast line of japan. so i put a battleship in 55. on his next turn he moved all 6 loaded transports to zone 57 with out any navel escorts. of course on my turn i moved the battleship into zone 57 with his transports baaaam all gone he looked up at me and said ( where the heck did that come from ? how the heck can Axis win when the allies have cloaking and stealth abbilites ? LOL )
I think he will NOT be watching TV while playing next time, what do you think ? ? ? LOL -
RE: IPC Record Sheet
Here something we do with the spring 1942 addition. you can keep track of the IPCs on the chart on the bottom of the board. we put chips under the marker to keep track of unused IPCs, seems to work well so far. not to mention, you know where your competition is at IPC wise at all times so you can plan accordingly
Good luck all
