RE: Piece Inventory
Thanks, but this is the list for the 2nd edition. The 1st edition has 370 pieces. Does anyone have a list for the 1st edition?

Piece Inventory
Does anyone have a list of how many of each piece each country gets in A&A Spring 1942?

RE: Ottomans first strategy
I think limiting the British reinforcement of India is a good idea; if not an official rule change than a really good house rule.

Want to Buy New Style A&A Chips
I would like to buy the gray and green new style chips. These are the chips that came with the A&A Spring 1942 2nd Edition game. They have Axis & Allies in the center. Please let me know if you have any to sell or trade.

Bag of Chips
I would like to buy a bag of plastic chips for this game. My usual source, Historical Board Gaming, has dried up. Does anyone know another source for A & A parts?

RE: Submarines in a Convoy Sea Zone
It seems to me that if a German submarine is in sea zone 125 and Germany is at war with Russia that the Russians should lose 2 IPC. My reasoning is that the convoy is for Russia (not Germany even though it is adjacent to Norway) since the Russians get a 5 IPC bonus if they control Archangel and sea zone 125 is not occupied by enemy shipping.

Submarines in a Convoy Sea Zone
I understand the Convoy disruptions, but my question has to do with a sea battle occuring in a sea zone with the convoy marker. Let’s say that on G1 two German submarines attack the British destroyer and transport in sea zone 109 and sink them without losing either submarine. Does the result of this sea battle, two German submarines in sea zone 109, mean that the subs are on watch and as a result England loses 2 x 2 = 4 IPC that turn? Or does this occur the next turn if the subs are still in sea zone 109 without a battle? Thanks for your help.

RE: Best Price For AAE40
Miniature Market is selling AAE40 for $58.50 + $7.75 shipping = $66.25.

RE: Best Price For AAE40
Yes, I am in Florida. I could save $3.xx if I wasn’t which would make it an even sweeter deal.

Best Price For AAE40
I would like to buy a copy and am wondering where the best deal is. So far Cool Stuff Inc @ $59.99 + $3.89 tax + $11.42 shipping = $75.30 is the best I have found. War Gamers Headquarters @ $69.50 + $5.95 shipping = $75.45 is the next best. Have any of you found a better deal?

RE: Field Command 2 : Choose Battle (Please read before you vote)
I voted for Iwo Jima, but actually I would much prefer Guadalcanal because of the terrific struggle for control of the sea lanes, the major supply issues for both sides, etc. I also wouldn’t mind a game that simulated the British/Japanese struggles in Burma.

Tactical WW 1 Game
Here is a tactical level WWI game I have been working on. I play it on the original maps from the A&A Miniatures game (2" hexes) and use the roads as trench lines or mark my laminated maps with a dry erase marker to indicate trench lines. I have only been playing offense/defense type games where the ratio of offense army points to defense army points is 3:2 and the offense has to capture an objective behind the defense’s trench line or has to open a 3 adjacent hex gap in the defense’s trench line after 10-15 turns. A 100-120 points for the offense makes for a reasonable sized army.
I bought soft plastic English, French and German HO scale WWI soldiers from the Toy Soldier Company and use cannons from Risk and Micro Machines biplanes. I also bought machine gun/artillery hard plastic sets from the Toy Soldier Co for the heavy artillery & machine guns that were so devastating in the trench warfare. I suppose you could use pieces from the A&A Miniatures for the infantry, machine guns, artillery, etc., if you want to try this before investing in the WWI pieces which are about $8/set.
I have play-tested this game several times and revised the rules at least 6 times. If you give it a try I would appreciate your feeback so that I can continue to improve the game.
Let me know if you can’t open the MS Word rules file.

An Interesting Civil War Game
I recently got a copy of Conquest Gaming’s “A House Divided The Brothers War”. It is an area movement game that uses miniatures and, because of the railroad movement in addition to regular movement, 6 distinct theaters (3 per side),general and event cards that modify the fighting troops abilities, is a very interesting game to play. It is tough for the North to survive the opening rounds because of their relatively weak starting generals and troop levels, but because of the reinforcement advantage, if it can hang on the game becomes winable for it. Another interesting and historical feature is that many of the South’s generals have good infantry, cavalry and artillery modifiers while many of the North’s generals are lesser, but all the main generals are represented so eventually the North draws Sherman, Sheridan, Thomas, Grant, etc. But, of course, the South continues to draw generals each turn so Longstreet, Stuart, Pemberton and Lee appear (Beauregard and Jackson start the game in play). You have to provide your own pieces, the pieces from the Napoleon Risk will work, but I had enough pieces from Battle Cry to play the game. The game is only $13 and with about $10 shipping is still are good buy for such an interesting game.

RE: Empires - Napoleonic Wars
I would like to play this as a board game with my gaming group. Are you willing to share this game with me? Can you give me the map file as a pdf file? I would also need the rules as either a Word or pdf file.

Has anyone played this game? What do you think about it? It looks like an interesting game but before I commit $90 I would like to hear from some people that have played it.
