RE: "Conquest" of Friendly territory - who gets control of factory and IPCs?
Ger can only take Ind after the allies captured it from Jap.

Do you mean most fun to play, hardest to play, easiest to play ……

RE: Bidding Systems
LL surely affects the average bid (vs ADS). In ADS (@DAAK) the bids are more spread (20-24), while the distribution of the bids in AAMC is a bit less. More players there will bid 23 ipcs. There are a few players who will bid 24(+), but that is (still) the exception.

RE: Neutral Violations
I do use quite a few neutrals in my games. Spa, Tur, Afg, Mon quite often.
Venezuela
Occasionally if US wants to take back Bra w/o distracting fleet.Peru
Used by Japs to take Bra (in case fleet gets threatened).Argentina
Same as PeruIrealand
In the very rare case the US dont have a place to put the aa for Rocket attack on Ger.Spain
Good for allies. Germans must always be ready for Spain invasion. Can be used by allies to keep Germans honest, i.e. prevent EEu-Ukr-Cau walk.Switserland
Rarely used by axis to store aa gun (when retreating from/trading Western Europe).Sweden
Can give the allies a headache in opening rounds. If allies set up for US2 Fin attack, those US forces will lose more than they want to, or Rus needs to reinforce Fin -> less pressure on EEu or less defence in Len).Rio de Oro
No use.Angola
Occasionally used by allies to attack/trade SA in case of strong Jap fleet presence.Mozambique
Havent used it.Turkey
Usefull for both axis as allies. The allies can use Turkey to trade/send troops to Syr w/o being threatened by Jap fleet. The axis (mostly in a trn bid game) can drop units in Tur from where a lot of countries can be targeted and a lot of opcs can be generated.Saudi Arabia
Rarely used by axis as retreat option (allies pressure from Egy + Cau on Syr).Afghanistan
Ocasionally used by allies for trading Ind w/o being threatened by Jap fleet.Mongolia
Usefull for both axis as allies, but mostly used by axis (if allies start using Mon, its often an uphill game for axis). Good way in early game to pressure Rus units/stacks (f.i. arm stack in Man or Mon can reach a lot of territories). -
RE: A no-bid Axis Win?
Which units are defending vs the german air attack in G2?
-
RE: Stupid newb question
You can attack land with units from transports only.

RE: SE Asia IC?
I dont buy Jap ics anymore. I dont want to give the allies the extra option to SBR Jap to death in case of an tech war.
I used to play with ics though, loved it. First ic in Bur, second in Ind. The ind inf are 1 step away from Afrika. Be carefull with this ic though, you dont wanna lose it to the allies if they start a Per push, so dont do it in case the Japs are in a bad situation.
I never bough a Kwa ic, since that is a tempo loss for the axis imo. Always better placed in Bur (and Bur beter than Man, since more options).

RE: Best Allied strategy
@ncscswitch:
Russia? WORST possible move in the game. Sure, build a Yakut IC, defended by your consilidated INF and tank from the Eastern territories. That is 5 less INF that Germany has to chew through the round after Russia buys it, and perhaps more later as Russia places some units at the new IC to defend against recurrent strikes by Japan… not to mention the free SRB run Japan would get to destroy an addiitional 1-2 Russian INF’s per round. Not to mention that, no matter what Russia does, Japan WILL take that IC in Yakut, and then start building westerward bound forces to use against Russia.
As always, it depends on the situation……A not often used resource for the allies:
A Russian ic in Yak can be a nice tactical resource at the start of the tech war. In case Jap gets heavies (maybe a lucky last resource), its nice to build that Rus ic in Yak (and move the aa into Yak). Now Jap has the tough choice to take it or not. If they take it, they are vulnurable to allied SBR runs. If not, than Jap can get huge cash flow problems.
In some case (but less often than the Rus Yak ic) UK can do the same trick in Ind. Since both UK and Rus were already in range of Jap SBR runs, it wont make a lot of difference.

RE: US IPC's
@ncscswitch:
In short, do you weigh economic damage against Russia and UK to be more essential as the Axis than simply grabbing ANY available territory to boost Axs income, including US territory?
Since UK and Russia are already potentially weakened, extra taking of income will have a huge effect. UK at 14 or UK at 18 ips is really a big difference. Otoh, there isnt much choice, since there are not variabel countries of US to take. Sin/Chi and Haw and thats it, sometimes trading Ala.
There are 2 strategies to threaten the US, both by Japan. Both are end of mid game or end game orientated and based on a Japanese transport strategy iso of an ic strategy.

RE: Openning Germany Move
What do you guys do about a Power Africa bid? You know, if the German player bids 21 (no RR) and places 7 inf on Libya?
Germany will take Egy rd 1, possibly (syr with trn and inf).
Round 2 they blitz around more, but by rd 3 they are moving everything to the Middle East.So they can do what some players call a “lurch” in Europe.
The idea to lurch back to Asia and put pressure on Russia is definately a good idea, but even stronger if Ger waits a few rounds, so the allies will have more outplaced units (in Afrika, but needed to clear that continent).

RE: The Kwangtung Maneuver
Time is to the allies advantage, not the axis.
I think this is true for the opening and the beginning of the midgame. If the game takes ~15+ rounds, the game will start to favor the axis again. Id gues that at least 75% of the 20+round games will be won by the axis.

RE: Axis and Allies 2nd ed without bids, Axis Advantage, or RR
Russia should attacks Ukraine iso Eastern Europe (w/alll avaibable land units), and kill Bal fleet.

RE: Axis and Allies was reccomended to me
In Axis and Allies there are a lot of different units (infantry, armor, fighters, bombers, transports, battleships, aircraftcarriers etc). This is a huge difference with Risc. All units have specific specs (cost, attack power, defense power, range). This is the main difference and makes it very interesting. This game will take more time than risc though (average 3-4 hours), which might not be appealing to a lot of gamers.
